My Lexus dealer is offereing these; anyone have experience of which  I should go for to get a slightly 'softer' ride (bad back!)

Would the seat heating still get through/work?

My wife has developed a back problem and is finding the ride in my RC300 uncomfortable; even with the heated seat. I don't want to change wheel size and it's not ready for a tyre change.  Years ago there was a product on the market, much used by taxi drivers I recall, of a sort of 'bubble' seat cover that, allegedly, eased back pain. Any thoughts?

I've this 2018 version of this Sat NAV on my RC 300 h Premium. How do you put in Favourites for restaurants and hotels in France and Germany. The system doesn't show any POI s when you try to search. It's also beaten the Lexus sales staff. Great on £40+ k car!

Taking my RC300H to France in a week and wanted to input my destination and a couple of addresses into the sat nav memory. Went into destination, etc and changed the country to France.

I was trying to input 1, place du Chatelet, 75001, Paris but part way through inputting either the town or the street it threw up a load of addresses I had to chose from - none of which were the one I wanted. Is it me or the sat nav?

Yesterday I asked HJ to clarify his advice and received this reply: "As I incessantly point out, tyre pressures rise by up to 4PSI when the vehicle is used and the air inside the tyres heats up. Obviously if you set the cold pressures at 38PSI, the pressures could rise to 42PSI in use and that could result in a serious crash."

I started a thread on tyre pressures in the RC300h forum but this actually affects all of us, so hope I'm not transgressing Forum rules by restarting it here.

I asked the Forum: "In nearly all his 'advice' in the DT Honest John [HJ] advises ignoring manufacturer's recommended tyre pressures, e.g. 35/38 psi, and, unless we are doing 100 mph all the time, run on 30/30 (he says all his cars are on that). What do you say?"

This received many responses some supporting others saying go with the 'door pillar' pressures.

So, if I read him correctly, he is still saying 'ignore the manufacturer's recommendation (door pillar pressures when cold) and drop them down by 4 psi'?

Wow! What an eclectic range of views but that's what Forums are for. So we have Honest John with 30 psi, (a quick search on Google gives), Pure Tyre.com with 33 and Tyre Pressures.com with 35 - still lower than my door post 38. The-Acre's comment is interesting/worrying - that might be worth exploring further.

My RC300 is the first hybrid I have had and came across an interesting issue last week. I joined three lanes of southbound brake lights on the M1 and then spent well over an hour nudging forward over the next 15 miles. Because we were just nudging up at slow speed the car was always using hybrid. Over the hour or so I noticed that, because the petrol engine was not spinning, the temperature slowly dropped. What happened to anyone stuck in this sort of traffic in the winter; any longer and the heating would have gone?

Thanks for the advice chaps. I've always been an Autoglym man  but what did you use Venator, was is available to the public?

Had my (10 day old!) RC300h Supagard coated before delivery. First car I have had Supagard on so unsure about future cleaning. Dealer says 'just wash it' and don't put any waxes/polishes on it. I would normally use Autoglym Aqua Car Wax after ever wash and then periodic Autoglym waxes/polishes through the year.

Any advice please?

As one of the 'people in the 50+ age group' it is a great car (well, after 10 days of ownership). Dealer tells me it's the first one on the road in this part of the world

'Morning chaps

Other things have got in the way since I asked my question so still looking at tyres.

I note that Goodyear Efficient are 'Run Flats' but Event Tyres say these should only be fitted to vehicles with Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems - my 250 doesn't have that. Does that mean I can only change to Asymmetrics?

2nd question! My IS is currently shod with Bridgestone Turanza ER33s. I accept that 18 inch rims are not the best for a 'soft' ride but what make would chums recommend for a 'softer' and, particularly, quieter ride

Please be gentle - my first post!

The handbook for my 250 Advance with 255/40 R18 95Y (rear) and 225/40 R18 88Y (front) suggest tyre pressures of 38 and 35 psi (upto 160 kph). My tyre fitter recommends 30 psi front and rear. Normally only two people and light luggage carried and I would prefer a 'softer' ride. Who's correct please?
