I'm guessing you haven't  looked under the rear skirt at the two fat pipes from the 2.5ltr engine??

Why can't a hybrid have exhausts on show? Emissions and exhaust pipe treatment I don't think are connected by most normal punters.

The RC300h has visible exhaust tips which is the same engine/powertrain.

In my opinion it is more to do with style than an impression of the emissions from the vehicle.

That one is quite a regular complaint unfortunately.

Although watch out as the temperature has three settings and will slowly decrease after a certain amount of time. You can reset it by pressing the button again.

The seats can be set not to decrease. I don't understand why they are so pathetic,  last week I had a ct loan car and had to turn the seats down,  they were so hot.

Thank you, I will switch the seats to stay on permanently to see if that makes a difference.

Hi James, looks like thats 2 they've sold then (-: Good to here from another owner. Yes, can't wait to get it, test car went like billyo. Last car I had that went that fast was an Evo 8 and that did 12 to the gallon around town. 12 days to go, have you got the sport, f sport?

It will certainly get better than 12 haha. I have got the F-sport.

Which trim have you gone for?

I second the disappointment with the XE, having loved my XJ I thought I would move to the XE, but the interior is dull the rear of the car looks like an Audi and the only version that had proper exhaust finishers was the S version, all other trims look unfinished to the point where new owners are fitting Skoda Yeti exhaust tips!

In addition the standard sound system was poor ,there seem to too many teething troubles with the initial cars and spec for spec it was 3500 more expensive than the equivalent IS with poorer finance deals .

  5. F@#! just kerbed the os front alloy.......in the dark. Was messing around with display settings and did not realise the car was so close to the kerb!!!!! And is was dark as well

    Any recommendations for repairs?

You aren't alone! I curbed my offside rear wheel last night parallel parking, a tiny 5p chunk taken off the wheel. I took out the alloy wheel insurance as the colour looks a difficult thing to match and after a reading a few of the threads on this forum thought I would be for the best.

I thought I would be OK with having 18" wheels on the car! I had 20" wheels on the jag I had before and in the three years I had it not once did I kerb a wheel.

  6. Very nice, love the colour. Any changes internally? Your 31mpg will be closer to 27 if the car has the same fuel computer over optimistic setting most of ours have, but still not too bad, mine is running at about 38mpg on the last couple of tanks!

The only change is the addition of a turbo boost gauge in the menu system, cant say I have used it yet!

  7. Last week I picked up my Azure Blue Is 200t F-sport. So far I am very pleased with it. I love the colour the way it looks the way it drives and refinement!

I find the heated seats don't get very hot but that is just a personal preference along with the foot operated parking brake which I kept forgetting to take off, I am used to it now though.

I am currently achieving 31mpg with mainly town driving so very pleased, it may improve once the engine is broken in. I have to agree with the sluggish throttle response from a standstill it is almost like the car has been mapped so that nothing much happens below 2000rpm in first gear, a bit weird but getting used to that too.

Cannot wait to put more miles on the car! I have to say Jardine Lexus in Newcastle were brilliant.

  8. Interesting review a couple of the reviews on YouTube mention the sluggish response from a standstill too. Did Sport mode alleviate this at all?

My Jaguar XJ had a very sluggish throttle response until I had the car remapped now it goes like a scolded cat. But there doesn't seem to be anywhere that remaps Lexus' having said that there is no way I would risk remapping the car while it is under warranty.

It is less than 4 weeks until I pick my 200T f-sport and it will be interesting to compare with your review only 27 days left!

  9. Aw good!

The dealership are letting me drive the 200T when it comes in to see what it is like. Fuel economy isn't too much of a concern as I do low mileage and I was expecting to get around the late 20s early 30s mpg.

If you're doing low mileage then the 200t does make more sense, I think its only £1k cheaper though but we don't know how well it'll depreciate yet which may offset things.

Being nosey, what kind of discount did you get on the IS200T? I think they're giving out £2-4k discounts on the 300h which may have offset the initial £1k cost on the 300h.

After driving the IS200T, it takes off slower than the hybrid due to the way the gearing is set up, somewhat like its starting in 2nd gear all the time but torque is very useable in day to day situations. Having said that, the refinement is ever so slightly less and the performance difference is not as big as I expected it to be. I went in thinking itd be NX300h vs NX200t all over again but its closer than I thought this time!

    Thanks everyone!

I was offered a £1500 deposit contribution from Lexus and £1000 from the dealer although after a bit of negotiation it was raised to £1500.

  10. Thank you!

I test drove the 300H f-sport, I know it has a totally different engine and gearbox to the 200T but the dealers demonstrator was not available for test drive until the first week of December.

If I had held off I may have not taken delivery of a car until February/March so I thought I would take a gamble.

If the 200T drives anywhere near as well as the 300H I will be a happy man! I think mine will be ready around the 2nd/3rd week of December.

  11. Hi this is my first post on the forum.

So I've been interested in the IS since it was unveiled 2 years ago, when the 200T was announced I knew I had to have look. So on test driving an F-Sport 300H I was seriously impressed with the car so it didn't take much convincing to place an order.

I settled on an F-Sport in Azure blue with black leather and electric seats with the business sat nav. I initially wanted grey with the rose leather but the azure blue one was already in build so it means a delivery just before Christmas.

Very excited and cannot wait for the Lexus Experience!
