I'm looking around for an IS 200 SE or Sport to buy. Would prefer black or silver in colour - full service history, manual gearbox and averge mileage for a MY 2000 -2001. Would prefer to view cars in the Midlands - but distance not a massive problem anywhere in the country for a proper example

Ok, basically my beautiful IS200 Sport had a close encounter with a 206 in the early hours of saturday morning. According to Mr 206 we dont give way on roundabouts!  :duh:

So he ploughed into my rear wheel at 30mph! As much as i thought the wheel sitting at a 30 degree angle looked original, i thought id better set it straight. Mr 206 wanted to do it without the insurance, took it to Lexus Twickenham, who quoted the repairs to be around £9500! 

Mr 206 was not best pleased and then decided to tell me he has no insurance! So now i have to go through the lengthy process of sueing his *****! 

Im guessing my car is gonna be a write off, so am looking for a new one, anyone got any ideas??

In the meantime, I've ordered an IS250 S-EL automatic in Canterbury Blue with beige leather, SatNav, Sunroof and 18" wheels. Arrives November 19th too.

Can't wait.

Tailpipe can you let me know how much your dealer charged you to upgrade to 18" rims. The dealer I have placed my deposit with is saying that it can't be done...

Hi I have odered a 250 S-EL and was told the 18" alloys will be an option at the cost £1k. The dealer even rang some tec chap at Lexus GB to confirm this option was going to be available. I do think 18" alloys should be standard on the S-EL

Have just confirmed my spec for the my new IS250. Have gone for the SE-L with matelic paint, sunroof, Sat Nav Pack.

Was disappointed that the SE-L did not come with the 18" alloys, only comes on the sport out next year, so dealer made a call and you can upgrade to 18" as an option on the SE-L at the cost of £1500, a bit on the pricey side, but what the hell is only money! Total car cost £34.5K.

I can not wait of for 19th November 2005 to pick it up.

I assume the 34.5k includes the £1500 for 18" alloys? That makes the Sport even better value - you could have had that + metallic, sun-roof, media, and (std 18"" wheels) for a touch over 30K. Ok, you get Escaine (suede) trim instead of leather and you have to wait til April....

In anycase, bet you can't wait :)

BTW - which exterior colour did you go for?
