  1. Correct it does not have full Lexus history, I haven't spoken to Fensport although I believe they are a well respected jap tuner / service centre

I would think the car would be out of it 3 year warranty period so a few quid saved by the second owner taking it to fensport.

What I can find on the car is it was for sale by a person up north who had it up for a couple of months, then he moved it on to this garage who have had it up since before xmas I believe.

Would I be correct in saying that I can have a major service carried out by Lexus and as long as there are no issues I can purchase the Lexus warranty ?

    Thanks

  2. Good morning all

So after buying the wrong car last year and not getting an ISF I have finally decided that I'm going to get one soon, I have seen this car below and I like the look and price, however the car has been serviced as below does this service history look ok ?

I will call the dealers who serviced the car to see if they have any notes or that any issues present.

Also, would anyone be able to advise the services that should have taken place and when, I'm aware there is a big service at 8 years or 80k miles ?

or has anyone been to see the car already as it looks like it's been for sale for some time

I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

Looking like a trip to Bristol this weekend tbh!!

the in laws are down there anyhow. Wonder what I could get off / thrown in with the 2011 silver car there..

If no joy could always head down to Exeter lol!

When I wanted t buy the low mileage Woodford car they offered a free service, and a 2 year warranty to run after the 1 year approved used Lexus warranty expired so in total 3 year warranty, you may be able to negotiate a small amount from the sticker price at Bristol but I doubt much more than 500 quid, but good luck if you can get more

  4. Well the Exeter car is missing it's 10k Nile service, well it wasn't carried out by Lexus as they have no record of it until it's 2nd service, the seller also said it was just serviced by Lexus and the next one isnt due until next year, Lexus records show it was last serviced last year and it's due around now according to the records.

seller also said it's had new brakes last year at Lexus, again Lexus have no record of doing this even though the seller tells me Lexus did it.

think I will give it a miss as the seller is clearly being economical with the truth and probably the reason it's as cheap as it is

  5. Funny as I have my eye on all three of these cars also

I am waiting for Matt to call me back regarding the 2011 car as I do quite fancy that one, also been speaking with the chaps at Bristol regarding the 09 silver car

in terms of value I think the 2011 car looks best as I suspect if that was at a Lexus dealers it would be a few grand more, however I have a feeling the 2011 car is due a big service, plus putting a 2 year warranty on the car is about the difference in what you would pay from a Lexus dealer, however I think due to the low miles the 2011 car will hold its value and could possibly even get a few years of depreciation proof motoring out of it

  6. Lexus don't seem to be worried about pricing the ISF to sell, the past few discussions I have had on my hunt for one they all seem to take the line that they are happy for them to sit for as long as it takes, as ultimately someone will buy it, they seem happy to throw in some extras such as warranty and service but won't negotiate much, if at all on price

I know they are - but essentially they're owned by people who cant really afford them.

I could finance a new Bentley Bentayga no problem - they're only like £1400 a month. Could probably even stretch to 458 at £3k a month, but WTH imagine if I turned up to my workplace in a Ferrari! Essentially some of it will be running through expenses anyway.

Hmm I presume you enjoy blasting personal comments around on the forum? My number plate is deliberately mis-spaced to separate the the name and the word. Its completely readable and have had no issues with police (even after being stopped a few times in the past few years) or in the MOT. Its been like that since 2004.

The whole point is that finance is really for people who cant afford to actually BUY the car, instead they just rent it, somewhat like property renting (which IMO is also a bit weird)

Having a mis spaced number plate is better than rolling around in a £50k Audi parked outside a little house.... or maybe its just me

Next we'll have finance options for jeans and haircuts, or TV's and Sofas.... OH WAIT, forgot about BrightHouse for a second.....

With regard to financing - I can't really see the problem in saving up - its like people have no patience whatsoever. Its not like I just forked out £54k on an RX and £24k on a used IS overnight! It does require some planning but hardly much.

use whatever means work for you but don't assume that finance is a bad option it works for some and not others

  8. The Woodford one is top of my list, I'm just waiting on a financial transaction to complete before I can buy, I did leave a deposit on the car but just couldn't move forward, however I suspect it will still be there in a few weeks when I can go ahead....however one of the silver cars at Bristol is number 2 to look at, ok it's done more miles at just under 50k but it's 3 grand cheaper and these cars don't seem to be miles sensitive regarding price like the M3 and C63 are.

The sales guys at Lexus Woodford seemed to be spot on, straight talking no messing about, I'm surprised that the service side was a let down but good to know for future reference as I have Woodford, edgeware, and Croydon all the same distance from me

  9. I didn't ! I looked at the Woodford car but i had a change in circumstances that meant I couldn't buy it despite leaving a deposit , then on Monday the Manchester car disappeared, I have a feeling it hasn't sold and they have just shipped it of to auction as the Woodford guys were aware of it as are, it seems every other Lexus dealer I have registered an interest with.

I hope someone did buy it as the Woodford guys hinted 21k would probably get it plus a couple of free services and some extended warranty it's a bloody good buy.

if it has went to auction I suspect someone will get that for a fair few quid less than 20k

  10. Thanks MNMJ

it does seem like a lot of these cars seem to sit around for sometime, it's good to know that there is an owner who is on here used to own the car so you know it's been looked after by an enthusias, I'm going to give them a call later tomorrow once I have had a drive in the Woodford car, the Woodford car has less miles but is older and a fair few quid more expensive than the red one

  11. Thanks MNMJ

  12. Good evening all, potential new owner here and hoping a few questions I have may be answered

having recently moved on my M135i the new family / fun car search has began and I have settled on the IS-F

I have a drive booked in one on Saturday to see if I like it, however I'm just trying to find a good buyers guide does one exist ?

I am looking at the car for sale in Lexus Woodford, the miles are low and it looks to be in good nick is there anything specific on this car anyone has noticed ? I know it's a pre LSD car ( I'm not such a driving God that I would specifically need a later car with it)

I also like the red one for sale in Manchester, but that seems to have been for sale for a long long time, is anything wrong with it other than the colour isn't favourable with everyone ?

ideally I'm looking for a car with dark interior, a fair few of the ones that are for sale seem to have light interiors, is this common or is it just what happens to be on the market at the minute ?

    thanks in advance
