    Hey Paul,

I’m planning on purchasing a 2017/2018 LC soon and CarPlay/Android Auto is a must for me, please do keep us updated how it goes as it’s almost impossible to find UK owners who’ve got it fitted within the factory screen

    Hi HM,

MMI unit ordered, awaiting delivery. I have found a local (Herts) installer, who seem to know what they are doing. I will keep this thread updated.

I am amazed that no-one seems to have done this yet in the UK. My current work around, of use car's sat nav, and blue-tooth music to the car, using the phone for track listing, is primitive at best, and I cannot use my speed camera bot at the same time.

  2. Hi All,

I have been following for ages, but am now in a position to buy. I am looking for a V8 2017/18. In an ideal world base spec with HUD and M/L. Most colours are of interest, but I really do want red or tan leather, not black. If any of you are looking to sell at the moment please do let me know.

  3. Hi All,

I have trawled quite a long way back, and not found a GSF vs RCF post.

    I had a GS 250 for 3 years, sold 2 years ago.

    I currently have a Porsche 911 (996 C4S) and an Audi A8 Hybrid (2013).

I am thinking of selling both and combining their roles, of sports car, and long distance tourer (about 8,000mls per annum).

I am interested on the groups view on the merits of both, and their suitability for the above.

    Regards

    Paul

  4. Hi UMAK,

As an owner of a 250 Sport, I hope I am qualified to express an opinion. This car does look good. One owner, good colour inside and out (I love the rose interior). Best new is the Mark Levinson upgrade and larger 12" screen, this is the best option upgrade to have.

Overall my experience of the GS 250 sport is great. Good to drive, quiet, relaxing, comfortable, and with the fun of Sport + on twisty roads.

Reasonably quick (ignore the 0-60 time, it feels a lot faster than that), with a great exhaust note when pressing on.

Only downsides for me are 22-24 mpg (I do not do many long motorway trips), the road tax (£300 odd), and the maintenance costs, But you do get what you pay for.

Check both front wheel bearings, as one of mine was shot at £28,000 miles, and they cost £700 each. I suspect a victim of pot holes.

    Otherwise good luck and enjoy.

  5. Hi Roy,

The hand book helpfully shows a picture of the front of the dash, with the reset button under the steering wheel - e.g. reach down in front of your knees and there it is.

This however is a "virtual" diagram. The button is actually under the dashboard not on it, and faces down to the floor. It is helpfully set a few inches higher than the bottom of the dashboard lip, so completely invisible. You have to lie on the floor of the drivers side, on you back, with you head touching the brake/accelerator, to see it.

Once you know where it is you then need to hold it in whilst the ignition is on, until the low pressure tyre warning light flashes three times - that being the light that you cannot see, as you are lying on your back on the floor, with a brake pedal in your ear.

I am sure you get the idea!

  6. Hi All

Thanks for your help and suggestions. I found a good owner-managed independent garage locally. It took him half an hour to call me to say the front nearside front bearing was shot to pieces. He said the wheel wobbled when they lifted the car of the ground. He cannot believe that Halfords did not notice, especially after 3 goes at the problem.

Anyway all fixed now. Thanks again.
