  1. Wahaaaaaaay :D

My first IS outing in snow this morning, I live in the middle of the country and it did struggle up the odd hill here and there but with Snow mode on and traction off..... weeeeeeee! great fun, it's been snowing all day too so I'm looking forward to the journey home!

In all seriousness, I love driving in the snow but the IS is most certainly the worst handling car I have driven in the bad weather (even with brand new tyres fitted last week)

  2. I was getting paranoid that it was all in my mind until I hit a slight change in camber on a country road at the weekend and the steering twitched again and threw me in the path of an oncoming car!

PS Tyre pressures are all ok!

What do You mean steering twitched? what was the speed?

It was a country Lane and only 35-40 MPH, I'd just felt a change in camber and the whole vehicle pulled to the right!

  3. Although slightly :offtopic: but talking of things you miss with a Lex.....

Where the hell is the little light that tells you when your washer bottle is empty?

I ran out half way :driving: down the M1 last night with more than my fair share of salty spray (oooeerrr!!) I couldn't see a :tsktsk: thing!!

21K Motor and no warning light! Perhaps I'll go back to the Volvo!

  4. Hi Guys

My standard 53 plate IS200 SE Auto with 14K is becoming a total nightmare,

I'm having problems keeping the damn thing on the road at times, the steering is all over the place.

I've had it since new and was well pleased to start with but this problem seems to have been getting progressively worse for the last 4-5000 miles.

Lexus ipswich have had it back twice and on each occasion told me there was "something" out of line and I should no longer have a problem, the last time it went in the service manager drove it himself and quietly admitted that it wasn't right so even another day in the workshop and full 4 wheel alignment later, it still seems to have a mind of it's own!

I have had further contact with Lexus Ipswich and they have said that they are going to escalate the problem up to Lexus GB but that was 6 weeks ago, I think they have thought they would leave it and the moaning old bugger will go away! :winky:

Is it me, am I daft or has anyone else had these problems, if so how have they been rectified? :duh:

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks

  5. That's what I originally thought, I'm not too sure about the Witter one but for the benefit of anyone else who's looking, the Brink is detachable and as far as I can tell is the one the one that Lexus supply which I have to admit at £190ish is a good deal.

Have a look at www.brinkweb.com, select Great Britain and then car details etc, it's the Brinkmatic Classic, you can even download the PDF fitting manual!

Defo needs to be detatchable, if not I might as well get a tartan rug, flat cap and nodding dog to finish off the ensemble!

    Cheers

  6. Nice one, thanks for your replies guys, I think RYX has set me up with one but if that doesn't work out it looks like witter is the best deal, I can buy the Brink one online at about £190 too, looks like it's going to be a little cheaper than I thought!.

    Thanks again

    Paul

  7. Looks like I might have to bite the bullet and put one of those towbar thingy's on the back of my 2003 SE!

Can anyone help with what to go for please? I'd prefer a detachable one for obvious reasons but I'm not to keen on the £600 Lexus price tag! For that price I could buy a cheap van and then I wouldn't need a towbar! :whistling:

    Any help appreciated!

    Cheers

  8. Diesel's have come a long way even in the last 2 years and have to be worth a serious look, I'd have one just if the filler didn't cut out every half litre  !!

I'm sure Tesco's staff have got a compilation CCTV tape of me getting :tsktsk: frustrated every time I fill up! :duh:

  9. Hi All

This is a great forum, you guys really know your stuff, I've learned LOADS so far!

    Anyways, here's about me...

I'm Paul and at 37 seem to fit in well with the average Lexus owner's age although sadly I'm not IT but have to wear a suit and tie cos I run an office equipment supplies company!! (YAWN)

Had my delivery mileage IS200SE Auto for 5 weeks now, it was an easy decision, beemers & mercs didn't come close, thank you Lexus Ipswich, cracking deal!!

No mods as yet but I'll be doing the odd bits and pieces in the near future and you'll be bound to see me floating around the odd discussion board here and there.

Just read the whole of this post and signed up on line for Gold membership (Hell the office supplies industry is quiet on a Friday afternoon!)

Keep up the good work fella's!
