  1. As the title suggests, my reversing light has started flickering/flashing and not working consistently.  Sometimes the brightness is as expected, but at other times the lamp is continuously illuminated but is very dim.  My initial thoughts are that there is some corrosion somewhere, but has anyone else experienced this and can suggest where the problem may lie?  TIA

Has yours got tints around the back?

My son's Golf has extremely dark tints around the back - have to pretty much reverse blind. Never an issue mind and that car doesn't have parking sensors or a rear camera

It does have tints but I don't look through them when reversing.  I can get a pretty good view from the camera, but like to line the car up with a particular join in the slabs on my drive but when it's dark I struggle to see it through the offside mirror.   I'll need to find another mark that I can line up with something visible over the shoulder or through the camera.

  3. I'm going to have to add a further dislike that has only made itself known since the dark nights arrived and that is the shockingly poor reversing light.  I have a camera but still like to see what's in the mirrors and sometimes I can't do so unless I have the brake lights on as well.

  4. I truly hope you get to see the CCTV and chase the buggers for what they've done and I can imagine the feeling of devastation upon returning to your car.  My wife thinks I'm a PITA for being so cautious about parking my car but this demonstrates that even being sensible doesn't negate the outlaws out there.

As an aside, the scratches on the bumper seem to suggest an up/down movement rather than a lateral one that you may expect to see in a car park - it'd be interesting to know how they've done it.

  5. Three months and 5k miles in and I love this car - it's brill.

    Dislikes:

    1. No rear 'over the shoulder' visibility - but the mirrors are very good

    2. I find that cars joining the motorway I'm already on can sometimes be hidden by the rear-view mirror if our speeds are similar.

    3. Switching the voice guidance or traffic announcements on means delving into the menu.

    Likes:

    1. It's quiet, comfortable and economical

    2. It does everything I ask it to and does it well

    3. Keyless entry - it's so convenient

  6. Thank you all for such comprehensive answers (with the exception of cutting short my lunch and going back after 40 minutes of course), and I didn't realise it was such an issue as previous cars (my last being a Hybrid Jazz) have had no problems at all.  I'll try leaving it in 'Ready' mode and see how it goes.

  7. I normally spend my lunch break in my car and like to listen to the radio whilst doing so, but is there any way to adjust the auto shutoff after 20 minutes?  Alternatively, can I press the power button for another 20 (and then another) without flattening the 12v Battery?

  8. I'm new to the Lexus fold although my Dad is on his second and talked me into buying one.  I traded my Hybrid Jazz yesterday and at significant expense, picked up a 63 plate CT200h Luxury and to say I'm delighted would be an understatement.  I'm loving the comfort, extra performance from the more powerful electric motor and the toys and gizmos should keep me entertained for a while.
