  1. Sadly my navigator will not update. I bought the download from Toyota maps and they have been quite helpful but unsuccessful. The latest suggestion was they would load a USB stick or forward a new hard drive (obviously at extra cost - not indicated). The only way I can have a 6 year upgrade is via Lexus who now tell me "it's £180 and would you like to book an appontment?" I understand it takes 2 hours to update with the engine running but doesn't need supervising. A nice bit of pocket money for Lexus. I used to have a Skoda Supreme with an upgrade that cost me £5.00! No joystick and a great touchscreen - I could also add and delete directly on the screen.

  2. My GS300h has been fine until today when I've encountered strange behaviour with my driver's seat. Formerly a seat belt entry/removal or startbutton on/off moved my seat to drive or exit.

Now it doesn't without my having changed anything. I've checked the settings and it's not "off" or "partial".

I'm aware of the strange way computer settings are altered in the car such as pressing start twice without the brake pedal
and holding the key to set it to the seat memory so I wondered if the key in my pocket had been pressed as I switched off
the engine or as I opened the door.

I've set memory 2 to having the seat back so I can then switch off and exit easily so it's not too bad except I have to press 1
every time for my driving/mirror etc position when I want to drive again.

Does anyone know a combination (e.g. boot lid - brake pedal - wing mirror - turn lever - headlight) which might have affect it
so I can reset to this useful function? I'd rather not pay Lexus a large sum for a simple remedy.

I DO wish they didn't have these secret resets. I found one to alter the number of turn flashes on YouTube (I haven't done it)

I know about moving the seat backwards/forwards/up/down/swing your partner round/do-si-do/allemande left but
    I haven't tried that manoeuvre!!
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    Kind regards to all.

Yes I believe so was told by my Local Lexus if i had any little problems to press start  twice and wait 10 secs this ensures all cpus are booted and reset  I have never  had to do it mind.

By the way mine said same  "Last update was cancelled and i updated mine and it showed the date of uodate but still says Last update cancelled so i dont think that as anything to do with it it will work if you have the correct update

you should try toyotamapsonline google it.

I pursued this route to obtain the update and was presented with my difficulty. I've now double pressed the start and it tells me to go to my dealer when I try to update. The double start also shut off my cruise control but I've got that back. Lovely cars - sad management and deployment.

  4. Hello everyone,
A previous owner "canceled" (cancelled) an update to the Navigation system.
Probably because it takes nearly two hours with the ignition on.

This has caused a problem because the machine refuses to update
until the previous update is completed.

Is there a way to set this up to a default so I can start again and update with
    my update?

    Many thanks

Is that picture from your actual vehicle?

If so then you need a usb update which can be done yourself.

If that picture isn't from your car, check whether you have a little flap just above the hazard warning light button, which hides a microSD slot. If you have that then you need a new microSD, which can be obtained from ebay for about £45

It isn't from my car but mine is exactly the same. It doesn't have a flap  near the hazard warning. Do you have any more details please?

    Thanks

  6. I owned an IS300h for a while and a GS300h turned up for sale at my local Lexus dealer at a very good price. I much prefer this GS which is smoother although
not as fast because it is heavier and fuel consumption is higher too. I preferred the styling of the IS but the GS looks fine standing against its competitors.
I do find the "Sport" mode impressive. My only disappointment with Lexus is - you buy the shell then pay for the wheels, the tyres the wipers the windscreen.......

Only joking but if you buy second hand make sure you know what extras are fitted my first IS was minus a navigator which I needed and thought was fitted.

I kept the IS Lexus bootliner when I swapped - it's in as new condition and didn't fit my GS. Anyone want to buy it?

  8. I bought an IS300h today in Sunderland UK from a main Ford dealer and expected to find a navigator in it. I hadn't checked first - serves me right. I used to fit car radios so I should be able to buy and fit one. Has anyone met this problem before? Where to buy? Likely cost? Any wiring problems or caveats ? Please? Thanks.
