I'll be in Palace Grounds Hamilton car park tomorrow (Saturday 8th) with my IS300h if you want to have a look at the boot.

    Hi Ianj,

Sorry, I was away on holiday when you posted. Kind off but I am now living in East Lothian.

A picture would still be handy though if anyone could take one? Particularly interested in where the steel bar that runs across the top of the boot ends up on the right hand side.

  2. Sorry to hear that it might not be an easy fix. I'm going to try and pop off the boot trim when I get some time to see whats going on under there.

Funny you should ask for pictures. I was about to ask if someone could kindly post some pics of the right hand boot hinge mechanism so I can see what it is supposed to look like? Slightly worried something might have sheared off.

I'll post some pics up of the damage tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Andy

  3. Hi,

Bit of an annoying one here. I stupidly managed to close the boot lid of my IS 300h on something hard on the right hand side and there was a cracking noise. The hinge on the right hand side has broken in some way. The plastic shield has popped off the hinge and the long "U" shaped steel bar has become detached from the black metal part of the mechanism.

I can't seem to get the U shaped section to stay back in place. It just pops out again. The U shaped piece seems to go across the roof of the boot and possibly links to the mechanism on the other side.

Any advice or suggestions of how to fix this greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andy

Hello and Welcome to the forum!

If you have any intentions of completing any maintenance, modification or just general enthusiast type jobs on the Lexus now seems like the ideal time to start a thread on the Brand New build thread section to share you ideals and photos and hopefully get a few ideas and tips along the way.

Thanks Robb, I'll take a look. Think this one will probably have to stay standard but may well do some of the maintenance myself.

    Welcome to the forum Andrew.

Looks like you've snagged yourself a good looking Lexus there, I like black with subtle chrome (I may be somewhat biased).

    Thanks for sharing the pic's.

    Enjoy.

    Thanks Lee,

Black is definitely the best colour.

  6. Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Andy from Edinburgh / Motherwell, Scotland and I've just got myself a lovely Lexus IS300h Executive  (pictures attached). It is a 14 plate with 14k miles on the clock and seems to be a great car. My previous car (still for sale) was a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 Type S that I love but a change in circumstances meant that I needed to find something new and much more economical, hence the IS300h. I'll no doubt be around on the forums with questions about the car for you all but hopefully not too many actual problems to solve.

    Thanks
