I also think it has something to do with the fluid... problem is, if its a bit complicated, that means I cant go to any local garage to get it done?
I'd focus more on the brake fluid. That pedal looks just a tad relaxed when you press it. The noise could easily be a valve in the brake master cylinder taking its time to reset because of air in the system.
There's been a discussion here only a day or so ago about the hybrids needing the Toyota system when doing brakes bleeding. Could that be an issue if you've had a bleed recently?

they already have a least 1k miles on them.If pads are new (it's a nonsense changing disks and not pads) I would wait 1-2 hundreds miles and then make some hard braking hoping to fix problem.

do you think changing the pads will resolve this?Had a similar noise on my IS and NX, plus my current RX. On mine it’s coming from the front pads. Had them cleaned a greased with copper based grease which cured it for a couple of weeks. I’m now just ignoring it, but watch other people’s faces when I creep forwards.

Hi,
My car randomly started making this terrible noise when releasing the brakes, or just firmly holding it all the way down.
I have recorded it for people to better understand the noise but my wife said it sounds like there is a chicken under the bonnet.
the front brake discs are new, not sure about the pads (bought the car less than a month ago)
rear discs and pads need changing soon, especially the discs.
not sure how that could make the noise though...
thank you.

I cant change the discs or pads on my own. ill have to ask them to change it all. so maybe change rear brakes and discs and bleed the system should solve the problem?
