  1. Hi I am puzzled by my 2002 LS430 as the rear of car is suddenly raised quite high after a motorway trip. The ride was also a bit bouncy. I’ve checked that it’s set on normal height and it’s not on sport setting either.

This rear being high happened about two weeks ago too and then within a few days the car rear height was sitting normal again.

I have also noticed that the sound of the air being pumped into the suspension bladders goes on (sometimes) for longer.

I’d appreciate any comments regarding this.
    Thanks

when I had to have a replacement front screen the rare and intermittent  ( wind ) noise I had vanished

so maybe it's the screen seating that slightly " gives " with age

Interesting, I will bare that in mind, thanks. Interesting though that no one has mentioned the window or door "seals" which is the first thing I would have thought of.

When you replaced the front windscreen surely that only replaced the windscreen and I assume a new seal was also introduced at the time which may have been the culprit?

Wear in the mechanism may allow the glass to move out of correct alignment. I had this on my Merc. Needed a new winder mech and readjustment of the glass alignment.

Might be possible to cure just by careful adjustment of the glass, you need to find an experienced independent .

Thanks, I thought it may be something to do with the seals around window and/or door. However you've gone straight for the winder mechanism / readjustment etc. I must say when it closes it doesn't sound quite as if it shuts completely; there's no firm "closure" Its almost as if its falling short slightly.

I could take it to lexus but they charge silly prices lol!! Not sure where in the UK one would go to get something like this looked at ? Perhaps an independent bodyshop or window replacement place?

    ;-)

  4. Hi folks, I've noticed that there is more noise than usual coming from the driver's window when fully rolled up on my 2002 LS430. Its irritating (to many it wouldn't be) to me as I'm sensitive to wind/window noise. But before I go replacing seals etc - which could be a waste of money - I wondered if anyone had any tips etc that I may try out?

    Thanks

    ;-)

  5. Hi

I'm still very new to the lexus world. Liking it so far ;-)

My LS430 is coming up to 160k miles and wondered what kind of service it needs. LEXUS in UK do obviously charge a premium for service but wondered what owners opinions are wrt servicing in other garages other than Lexus.

Specifically I want to ascertain what needs to be included in the a MAJOR SERVICE at 160k miles and what to look out for wrt choosing a garage to do the work. I'll check in the handbook but would appreciate some feedback.

    Many thanks

    Raj ;)

  6. Hello everyone I am new here so really nice to be among what seems as a new family! ;-)

I have a LS430 which I just acquired. 2002, great MOT results in that there's never been an issue and its been fully serviced/maintained, 157k on clock.

However, I noticed that sometimes when I start the car there is an "initial" chugging sound that comes from the footwell area near my feet or on that side where I am seated as the driver. It's not an overly loud sound but I have started the car many times since buying it used from a trader on Wednesday morning and now on Thursday evening (after  drive of about 240 miles) I have noticed this issue.

The trader said it's something to do with Air Compressor  for suspension that fills up. But when I told him it's from the footwell area not the bumper area t(which he initially thought) hen he said he doesn't know. PLUS why is it the first time I am noticing this noise after many times of starting it?

Any pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks! ;-)
