  1. sorry, been so long since i have been on here,

Thank you for that Colin, it steps only when on full lock , more noticeable when the road is wet, the car seems to 'skip' sideways a little, it feels horrible, and it can't be doing the tyres any good, The other issue is that the rear tyres were wearing on the inside edge with the previous 18" wheels , which is strange because the car had 4 wheel alignment done to Lexus spec, and i thought this is what was meant by 'stepping' because this was on the Lexus garage video report they sent me, will be taking it to the tyre fitters today to get checked out.

  2. Hi Len,

They would have a bigger rolling radius i presume, (225/40/19 front, 255/35/19 rear), At first , there was no difference in the handling , just harder suspension, but now they have ' bedded in' the handling is better, though i have to say that the Bridgestone weather control on the 18's were quite impressive too, I have stuck with the Bridgestones, but now i have Potenza Sports on the 19's,

Keeping on the same subject, has anyone else had problems with 'stepping' on the inside of the rear tyres?, I have read that it's something to do with the factory settings on camber and castor, would appreciate any info on this, and what is the best settings to stop it happening?,

    Cheers peeps

  3. reading about mods to the is300h on here is interesting, i am no boy racer(i'm 57 for gods sake!! 🙂 ) but i do like to individualise my cars, it is a personal thing i guess, i have recently put 19 inch wheels on my f sport and they fill the arches much better, the car was bought with a carbon body kit on , complete with twin chrome pipes,i'm not a fan of carbon fibre to be honest, but it does enhance the look, i will change the rotors for drilled and grooved ones as i think these look much nicer, plus i will paint the calipers , aside from this,  i don't think you can do much more to these cars without compromising the reliability and comfort, unless anyone has any ideas about improving the suspension??,         I will post a picture or two at a later date to see what you think of what i have done, sure to have criticism, but hey, life would be so boring if we all liked the same thing.

  4. Hi all,

I've always felt that the 18" wheels look too small on my car , would love 20's, but have opted for 19's, I know the tyres will be more expensive anyway, but have budgeted for this, i've now got to decide which tyre i have, as the new wheels are on their way, I currently have Bridgestone weather control tyres on my original F sport wheels, and they have been great, been on over a year, and there's still 6mm tread all round, I don't drive  fast usually, BUT, sometimes i like to  ' OPEN IT UP!!!' down the lanes when i am alone, and it's quiet ;);), and i'm not filled with confidence, my question is, is it just the car?, it is a heavy car,is it the tyre choice?, been looking at reviews for all makes, and i found that the Michelin crossclimate 2's have the top overall score, any thoughts out there please?

  5. Thank you John and Linas for your replies, I have sent for a new sensor, and i am hoping to have it delivered early this week, spoke to a technician at the garage i had the first re-gas, he said he will fit it no problem, just hope it will cure the issue , as i am going away in it next week, i have heard that i could bypass the sensor , but i don't want to risk damaging something else!.

  6. Hi guys/girls,

I have a 2013 is300h f sport with 107k miles , always serviced regularly, never had any problems until recently,

I took my car to my local dealer because i kept having 'clean sonar ' message, turns out a sensor in the front grill

had failed , £95 later , and 15 minutes to fit( saving me £144 labour!!!!) all was good, but thats not the issue, my friend

has a 2015 is300h, took it to the same dealer 2 weeks before i took mine, he just took his for a health check, no problems

until a week later, his aircon started blowing warm, a week after i had taken mine, guess what, my aircon started blowing

warm too, coincidence?, maybe, his just needed re-gassing, now all good, i took mine to an independent garage, they fully serviced the system and re-gassed, still warm , but being very nice people, they didn't charge a penny, i am suspecting the pressure valve

by the condensor, after checking fuses , i enquired at Lexus how much to change and re-gas, they quoted over £700(BIG GULP!!!),

er, think i will leave it i said, then enquired at another Lexus dealer as to the cost of said part , it's over £300(ANOTHER BIG GULP),

just for a pressure switch, of which i have seen for sale on the web ( sure they are Denso) for around £30, add that to the £69 to

re-gas, shows how expensive Lexus garages can be, sorry it's a bit long winded, just wondering if anyone else has had a similar

experience, or any other ideas to do with my AC?.

    but still warm, nic

  7. Thank you Steve2006, and Alan64 for your replies yesterday, also Mossypossy for showing those 20" wheels, nice wheels , though i would love to

put 20's on , i think 19's are probably the limit , I found a piece of paper i'd written on with wheel sizes i could have on from a well known supplier

saying i could put 20x8.5 et+32 with 235/30 r20 tyres front, and 20x9.5 et +40 with 255/30 r20 tyres rear, but said nothing about altering the suspension,

I would like to do something with the suspension at some point in the future , and i will be asking LOC for advice on this, but the wheels need to be done

first, incidentally, how much do you think i could get for my original F sport wheels?, they are in reasonable condition, a few mark/chips from the previous

owner :(, i could get them refurbed i guess.

  8. Hello fellow Lexus owners,

Sorry, I'm new to this club, even though i have owned a Lexus (is200 sport 2003 - 11 years), and now a is300h f sport from last September,

I've always liked to individualize the cars that i have owned over the years, don't get me wrong , i'm no boy racer (hell, i'm 54 now!!), i just

like my cars to stand out a little, anyway , i want to put bigger wheels on my car, even though i have 18" as std, i've always felt that they don't

fill the arches enough, the car had a carbon body kit fitted when i bought it, but will get this painted to match the blue bodywork later, I saw a nice

set up by Skipper on a black 300h/350 with 20" , just wondered if i would have to modify the arches, or just make sure i get the ET right, along

with the tyre sizes, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
