  1. I too have hit this profile login problem a few times over the last year. Still happens occasionally, annoyingly.

I think it's something to do with the vehicle failing to connect over the mobile network at the point where it decides it wants to sync data, which therefore depends on coverage. Either that or there's something up with the Lexus data service authentication at the time. What's really frustrating is why it doesn't appear to retry, since my credentials haven't changed.

My password contains uppercase letters too, and I struggled to get the shift button on the screen keyboard to work, until I found if you press and release the button very quickly, the letters on the keyboard then switch to uppercase.

    Hope this helps.

  2. As others have pointed out on this forum, until Lexus decide to produce and offer solutions to this Canbus attack vulnerability, for existing ES and NX models (not to mention the rest of the range), and publicise that they're taking action to address this problem retrospectively, the bad guys are not going to ease off. Predictably, now they've found a low cost method of stealing high value vehicles, it's increasingly evident organised criminals have moved in to strip cars within a day or two of them being taken.

Yes, the latest NX models are purported to have some element of Canbus encryption, but that's not going to stop the miscreants having a go, by which time they've caused many 1000's of pounds worth of damage as a minimum. That's notwithstanding the fact you may have also paid many hundreds of £'s extra to get an after market immobiliser/tracker fitted.

The impact of existing thefts has already crippled Lexus insurance costs, and I don't see that situation changing any time soon, least not until Lexus intervene in a positive way.

Lexus must know the level of damage this is causing to customer confidence in the brand, and it's got to be hitting their sales already. Indeed, many Lexus owners are increasingly angry over the lack of response, and in due course some will vote with their feet.

I trust Corporate Lexus are tracking opinion on this forum.

  3. I'm just behind you. I only had to wait 15 months for my NX350h, but am very pleased with the vehicle overall.

Like others have reported, the second key is nominally available now, and having contacted my local dealer the vehicle goes in next week to get it programmed up.

Locking wheel bolts still don't appear on the horizon, but when questioned on this, the dealer did say the reason for the non-availability was because Lexus ordered them from Russia. Though plausible, I'm not sure that stacks up, since I can't see Lexus having a single source for any one mechanical component; but then the chip shortage has compromised availability of second keys.

Apologies if I am missing something here. Where are you actually installing the lights?

I have a NX 450 with the Premium Pack option. It has puddle lights in the front door handles, which as have been previously stated are not very bright.

I have spoken to the supplying Dealer, who has said that it is correct - no mention of lights at bottom of door. There is one circular plastic blanking plug at the bottom of the door, however there was no connector behind it, just a bolt securing the black plastic trim to the bottom of the door.

On my NX350H (MY24) I have circular plastic blanking plugs at the bottom of the rear doors, but on the drivers and passenger doors in the middle at the bottom, there are rectangular (ish) plastic blanking plates with clips behind which is a wired in connector.

Lexus have evidently changed their minds over how best to furnish puddle / courtesy lights, but in my view a light in the bottom of the door handle or mirror might be too far away to be effective.

  5. Ok, I stand corrected.

Have just been into the garage, and yes, the door handle LED does illuminate the ground below the door, but it's not bright enough to see much, and it's the wrong side of the door when you open it.

szhrmp's post shows the additional light at the bottom of the door once opened, shining towards the sill, but only on the Takumi spec it would seem.

  6. My NX was also cited as an early MY24 model, but didn't come with puddle lights at the bottom of the door. Hence me opening this topic, and deciding to order after-market ones from Addcarlights. Maybe I too should have gone back to the dealer, but I've had the car a few months now, and Lexus have possibly updated the product specs in the meantime.

I think the LED in the bottom of the door handle is simply to show you where the handle is. It's not bright enough to illuminate any sort of puddle; hence my reference to a Toc H lamp.

  7. Mine only has the "Toc H" lamp (led) glowing on the underside of the door handles, so decided to order something brighter, namely the ones listed above from Addcarlights.

Post order, they emailed me to confirm the vehicle spec and year to make sure they dispatched the right connector size. Am still waiting on international delivery, but will report back once they arrive and get fitted.

  8. Like several others on this forum have commented, I too was disappointed to find my new NX350H (with Premium Pack), doesn't have door puddle lights. Penny pinching by Lexus indeed!

However, there are blanking covers on the drivers and passenger doors, and behind them a small connector is wired in. So I'm looking for recommendations from members as to what after market options there are that I can fit; OEM as much anything official from Lexus.

Searching the US Lexus parts site, I've found item 81230-11030 which claims it will fit the NX 2023 model - https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus_2023_NX/Courtesy-Light-Left--Right/69489950/8123011030.html

The UK Lexus parts site lists that part against the UX, with nothing found for the NX - https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-ux-phase-1-front-door-courtesy-light-assembly

If I search the net for OEM options, I've come across this reasonably priced Vepara product on amazon, but it doesn't list as being compatible with the NX (though the UX is listed!) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/VEPARA-Projector-Courtesy-Compatible-Accessories/dp/B0BGC5JF67

Has anyone fitted after market puddle lights to the NX350H (possibly the above Vepara product), and if so what would be their recommendation?

Yes you are correct - just signed into my Lexus and the journeys have gone.  There is a notification message that says that as I have now got the Lexus plus app all this info is available there !!!!!

Ok, so what's the best way to complain to Lexus (Toyota) about the lost history and the decision to provide just a one month rolling view of data in the Hybrid Coaching section of the updated app?

Have they really chosen to delete all the data (which is clearly very useful to them), or have they decided we only need a limited view of the data?

Storage is cheap, and I'd personally like to be able to see all the vehicle history back to day one.

  10. I also have a new 2023 NX350H, and decent Faraday pouch for my key, and can confirm it works.

If I take the pouch with key out of the house next to the car, I've confirmed the car won't unlock. Remove it from the pouch and the car unlocks as expected.

But I agree with the previous posts, and always deadlock the car with the key when out and about, such that you have to use the key to unlock the vehicle.

This is the product I ordered from amazonhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PP1X4MJ

  11. Ditto. I've just had a Ghost II fitted to my new NX350H (MY24 spec) with no problems. It works as described.

Having said that, the Autowatch recommended installer I used said this model of the NX had revised cabling to the previous models he's installed, and needed to speak to a couple of contacts to confirm some details.

Within the limits of what one can do to protect one's assets, I'm glad I went for this product.

  12. I took delivery of an NX350H with Premium Pack a week ago, which I believe is the MY24 spec, in that it has the new UWB key fob, Lexus Link Pro, 14" screen, and electric seats. It was ordered in March 2022. But no, it doesn't have all those extra features you describe, which would have been nice.

As usual, specifications change, so presume those extras would apply to new orders from hereon.

Plus having to turn off the lane trace assist off every time I get in….although I think I have solved this today, by changing a notification setting from vibrate to beep..let’s hope that does the trick.

Interesting; can you please detail the precise steps you've gone through to achieve this?

I hate the fact this lane trace assist feature is mandated (every restart) through EU legislation here in the UK. Specifically, Lexus has a different manufacturing line for RH drive vehicles, so why can't the software defaults be different to the rest of the EU?

Do you mind me asking what e-mail address you had for Lexus HQ? I have an e-mail address for Customer relations (cr@...) which I’ve used twice to no response so far (had an ‘indirect reply’ the first time round – I suspect they forwarded it onto my salesman. Nothing at all the second time). My last contact was via private messaging on Twitter, which they basically told me to ‘ask again’ at the end of this month. 🙄

I didn't have an email for Lexus HQ per se, but rather sent my complaint to enquiries@Lexus.co.uk. However, I bcc'd the mail to my sales contact at my local Inchcape dealer, and they in turn raised the issue with their Head of Business. I suspect they escalated it with Lexus HQ, which was why I got a personal call. Lexus HQ would be more concerned if a major franchise dealer was raising a complaint, over a single customer.

I’m reluctant to cancel because, surely, I’m now that far through the process that they’re going to have to accept my order needs to be fulfilled like anyone else’s. I’m very much getting towards the end of my tether with it all, though.

    ...

At that point, I’ll be at the 14/15 month mark with no progress. No one can accuse me of lacking in patience.

    ...

I placed my NX350h order back in March 2022, and got build start confirmation exactly one year later on 14th March 2023. The Lexus Link App tells me its now arrived at Portbury, so things have progressed.

Having said that, I did escalate the customer frustration through my dealer at the beginning of March, with a polite but firm complaint about the delay, along with continued receipt of Lexus marketing emails encouraging me to buy a new vehicle.  This complaint was forwarded to Lexus UK, and following a personal phone call from them, apologising profusely, believe it was this escalation that triggered the build.

Whilst component supply was given as the main reason for the delay, and though that situation has purported eased, they still have a limited build capacity for UK models. So it may be worth writing to Lexus HQ, either directly or through your dealer, to see if you can move yourself up the pecking order.

  16. On March 14th last year, I ordered an NX 350h (Premium Pack/Lexus Link Pro), and today received an email saying my order has just gone into production; so a year to the day!

I fully expect my Lexus dealer to hold the original purchase price, but it remains to be seen if they'll offer me the same trade in value on my low mileage ES. Whilst I know the second hand vehicle market is still buoyant, I'm not holding my breath. What are people's views on this point?

Equally, am wondereing what if any specification changes there might be for a build starting three months into 2023?

  17. To me, this looks like mineral deposits built up from the water used to wash the car; tap water or a jet wash maybe?. Depends on your water supply of course, but of choice, I prefer to wash and rinse with rainwater from water butts.

You could try a mild limescale remover such as white vinegar, or a diluted commercial product (well rinsed afterwards).

Hi Fusspot…..I aspire to your elevated status…I ordered a 350h F Sport Sonic Titanium early in March and after chasing my dealer hear that it isn’t expected to arrive now until Apr/May 23. My app not even registering “Order in progress” after waiting 9 months already seemingly forever at the back of a queue…

@Andyml - I really don't feel elevated compared to other long suffering Lexus customers on this forum (68 pages on this thread and counting!). I just wish Lexus would get their act together and progress existing long standing orders through to production.

Hopefully, the various chip supply shortages are being resolved, and things start moving soon. I never did like the concept of Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory systems, and always felt t was a strategy designed to suit the bean counters, rather than customers. Well, they've not been counting many beans for some months now, so let's hope they get their just desserts, and learn the folly of sailing so close to the wind.

Others may have a different view...
