I got it sorted in the end. What I didn't realise was that the pin the EGR is mounted on with the nut on the end can actually be removed! So I took that out, assembled the EGR and pipe back together off the car then refitted. Now I've done it once the next time will be alot easier.

The valve was completely carb'd up and I'm not surprised it kept sticking! I've not driven the car for 4 months so had forgotten what it's like but it seems to be more responsive now when accelerating. It's not juddered yet but I've only been out in it twice.

Does anyone want me to do a guide on how to remove it with photos?

    Yes please.

A guide would be amazing. I always assumed that the plunger type mechanism wasn't serviceable.

    No problem.

EGR Valve to cooler gasket is 25627-37010

EGR Valve to EGR pipe is 25634-37010

Sorry no prices listed at present but both should be less than £10.00.

    Thanks Steve much appreciated.

  3. I'm having real trouble with this to be honest. Cars on around 85k so nothing major.

Took the pipe off and cleaned it, tbh I was quite surprised that there wasn't alot of carbon deposits their.

Im contemplating replacing the whole egr, it's quite expensive. Wondering if it's a DIY job.

When I've inspected the plunger unit (the black cylinder in the middle of the pic above) it seemed really sticky. So when I pushed it in, it was a little reluctant on the way up and down. Is it possible to just replace that part?

Before replacing the EGR are there any other diagnostics I can do, it seems to flash P0403 up alot.

Just really hoping it's not the manifold.

  4. Hi Everyone,

We have a CT200h in the family (mother in laws) which is a great car. So impressed with it, but unfortunately we are having a few issues.

The heater motor was playing up which (I think) we've managed to fix with the help of @me140 s post. Although I made the rookie error of blowing the fuse by using the wrong circuit board.

We've also got the door handle trim on the passenger side coming off - guess we can live with it, throw on a cable tie and I'm sorted.

The big issue that we've got is...

as the car slows and/or stops the car jerks or lurches, she also said it sounded louder...

Seem really odd. Wasn't sure if anyone had any experience of the issue?

I think its possible transmission related?

It's been serviced by Lexus every year on the nose.

Also does anyone have a good trusted garage in Leicester (or surrounding) areas.

Thanks in advance everyone's already been so helpful.

  5. Hi

I've done some more homework. Unfortunately I don't believe you can saw it for 3 individual fuses.

    This is the part...

    https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ct/lexus-ct-2010-onwards/lexus-ct-engine-service-kits/lexus-ct-phase-1-50a-30a-30a-fusible-link/

    Part number is 90982-08300 CTP1

Think it retails for £17, but is £13.56 on the site.

Hopefully this helps someone in the future and fixes my issue.

  6. Hi All,

Sorry to revive an old thread. New to forums too so thanks in advance.

We have a Lexus CT and the fan sounds horrific, almost certainly the issue above.

However, I'm really struggling to remove the motor itself. I'm trying to access it from underneath. I've removed the 3x 8mm bolts and it comes loose (relatively).

However there's a wiring harness in the way that it fouls on. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can remove? Really desperate to get it sorted.

    Huge thanks in advance.
