  1. Hi John, could you tell me if the valve you used is the normally closed type? I’m struggling to understand the concept, must be a bit thick but I thought a normally closed valve could only open when power was applied to the coil is this correct?

Looking forward to hearing from you on this as I have been wrestling on and off with this for  a while now.

  2. Hi everyone, I was hoping somebody might know of an engine builder? My gs450h has 85k on the clock and suffers from the dreaded phaser rattle on start up and it’s starting to really annoy me! Does anybody know of a good engine rebuilder in the Kent area? Failing a decent builder  / Toyota Indi in Kent I would be happy to take the car anywhere in the south east!

I do hope somebody can help me as I love the car and this noise is the only thing that’s letting it down!

Looking forward to hearing from someone out there pleeese!!

  3. Ok, I hadn’t put the fuse back properly! Once I did, I could start the car however I still had a check hybrid light on the dash. I spoke to Richard of hybrid solutions who suggested disconnecting the 12v Battery for 10 mins. This I did and the warning light had disappeared! Just in case anybody else feels like changing their plugs and getting close to the high voltage  and wants to isolate the system, just make sure when you put the fuse back you ensure it seats properly.

  4. It was time to service the car that has been running really well, until today. I was changing the plugs, right bank what a faff, anyway I was working close to the inverter and didn’t fancy getting a shock so disconnected the fuse on the traction Battery, looks like a big mistake, as once I had completed the work on the plugs feeling very satisfied with myself the car wouldn’t start, no ready display and only a bulb check ECB and check hybrid system message!!

I hope I haven’t blown anything up and was only doing what I thought was right obviously I was wrong, can anybody shed any light on this for me before I ring Lexus Canterbury!! Thanks in anticipation

  5. Hello all, I have just taken delivery of a genuine Lexus roof rack, however I’m struggling to fit the rack! I thought I was being stupid as the rack says it’s suitable for various gs models however on closer inspection I can’t expand the rack as it looks like the screw heads are broken off! (eBay purchase)!

Does anybody know how these racks are supposed to fit, I can’t seem to find any info on the rack! I can only think that the fittings are pulled out from the main spar and reattached using bolts?

Any information would be gratefully received.

  6. Ok been looking at other options and a set of 18” gs300 wheels have just become available! The guy doesn’t know one whether they would fit my 450h, and two whether you can fit the tpms sensors? Really appreciate some feedback on these, at least they aren’t tapered!

  7. Oh that’s a shame thank you for the feedback that’s excellent. I was hoping that I could renovate the wheels myself as they are uncomplicated compared to mine! Also help to reduce the unstrung weight as they are considerably lighter than the originals.

I think gs300 wheels fit but they are a lot more money than Mazda. Any ideas on second hand wheels that would fit the car and not cost the earth! I was thinking about Toyota equivalents buy can’t find any I like!

  8. John, thank you very much for your response it’s most appreciated. I think I’ve found a garage that’s prepared to take it on so hopefully it’s all systems go for the installation. Just for info the American company I purchased the system from left parts out but I raised a case with PayPal and the guy sent me the missing parts!

Im going go for for the switched system like yours that way I can experiment with the pre lube time and not have to worry about a controller/timer.

    Thanks again. Guy

  9. Hi John, I’m trying to get my pre lube system I bought from the states fitted by a garage, proving difficult as most garages either don’t trust the system or just don’t want to get involved! I note from your post that you used a quarter inch adaptor with the t part fitted into the hole vacated by the oil pressure switch. I thought that the Japanese used metric sizing am I wrong? I might try and fit the system (auto lube)  myself hence the question.

Looking forward to hearing from you if you get time.

    thanks

    Guy

  10. I bought one of these products from the states and can honestly say I’ve been well and truly ripped off! The system was missing all of the clamps and the controller along with associated fittings. I’ve sent the fella loads of emails with no response! To make matters worse it cost me £110.00 in customs duty and VAT!!  Not a happy bunny at the moment.

  11. Had the car around a month and still working out what does what! Seem to have an issue with my side lights, when I put them on via the stork they seem to work occasionally, for instance when I flick the headlights on and off the offside light might work but not the nearside. Then when it’s dark and i do the same thing both of them come on! Once again occasionally. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Might be an earthing issue or just a dry joint in the wiring somewhere, either way a bit of a pain!

    Any feedback gladly received, Guy
