The Lexus hold on Reliability and Quality of Service is slipping and will soon be revealed.

John, I see that the recent refresh of the NX includes a major change to the interior.  The driver is faced with a much more vertical design to the dash and the bling trim around the fascia has gone. Perhaps someone noticed? A.

Just exchanged 2012 RX450h for the NX. Clearly this is a different car but with an unexpected irritation.

The silver (metallic?) trim around the centre binnacle and above the glove box is reflected onto the windscreen according to variations in the external brightness/light/shadow.

The randomness is disconcerting. I'm tempted to paint it a dull black which is a shame for a nearly new car with only 16K on the clock.

Any other ideas and experiences  will be appreciated.

PCM. I used thin tweezers in the first attempt until I realised it was not paper lodged behind the hinge but mints! Subsequently I discovered that like all things Lexus the assembly is bullet proof. 

To remove the console and replace the box and lid might produce a hefty bill?

A bizarre problem. Tube of Trebor mints caught behind hinge of lid. Now lid won't fully open.  I don't use the cup holder fitting.  

Any ideas on how to remove lid without breaking it will be welcome. Thank you

Herbs, thank you for chasing this down. If the cable can't be accessed without all the work to remove the gear selector this might be a pricy problem.

The car is going in for a service and a check on this problem. Hopefully lubrication might be the answer. The problem is a little surprising since the car has only 66K on the clock. All servicing with main dealer.

Is this fixed with lubrication or a replacement problem? I assume it's a physical cable connection not an electronic control?
