  1. Hi mate, how's it going? In terms of toys, looks like you'll want an IS250 SE-L auto with MM - there are tons of these available on the Lexus approved used site so it won't be hard to find one, as long as you don't need ACC (that's a bit rarer)

Hi ya - go for it. Got mine a late 2006 SE-L with all the toys INCLUDING the ACC for a tad under 14K. had to do a bit of searching but ended up with one on my doorstep. Best of luck with your search.

Wow, now that sounds like kind of deal I'm after. What does ACC stand for?

    Adaptive Cruise Control

    Thanks :)

  3. Hi all, I haven't been around here much for the past year or so. Used to have a S/C'ed IS200 which I sold and purchased a Mondeo ST220. Great car, but I feel it doesn't offer me what I want from a car now to be honest. I'm after a bit of executive luxury, without having to buy a wafto-barge, so am thinking of getting an IS250. I test drove one a few years back when I took my IS200 in for a cambelt change at Lexus Reading, so I know it's a nice car to drive.

If I buy one though, I want one with ALL the toys (including the Mark Levinson kit), with a 2.5 petrol engine, autobox. How often do these realistically come up for sale? Can't afford new, so I'm looking second-hand. Am I going to have a long wait on my hands?

  4. Spotted a crashed IS200 this morning :(

Looks like the read had spun out whilst leaving the roundabout which joins the A406/M11/A12.

Hope it wasn't anyone from here. It was either a black or granite sky IS200.

  5. Out of interest today I removed my black ECU. Whilst doing so, I noticed that one of the connections I had made was loose, and I doubt the wire was making a good contact.

Re-wired it back in, reset the main car ECU, and the drive home was perfect! No problems whatsoever...

Will give it another few days to see if the CEL comes on.

  6. yes, u can get a free replacement from tte

Ahh buggery bollocks. I wonder if the error code reader I have coming will determine this?

    How else can I check?

This is a bit annoying as Wayne is meant to be picking my supercharger up this weekend, I can't give it to him with a dodgy ECU :( I guess I'll have to wait for the error code reader and then get in touch with TTE if thats the case?

You would be better off with HKS FCD, better than tte black ecu, fits in same place as tte ecu tooo :winky: about £100

Got anymore details of this mate?

    Is this something Prolex sell?

  7. yes, u can get a free replacement from tte

Rob, TTE not doing them Free anymore :o wanting e500 for one

nah cant be 500 euro for the black one.....?????? 500 for the silver ECU is about right tho.

i need to have a chat with tte tom anyway so can ask them

Could you Rob? I don't suppose you know when you'll be doing that?

  9. Hey guys hope posts like this arent too frequent and im going over old ground here but are there any owners here who currently or previously have run mr2s?

i got a UK spec 99 rev5 but work are trying to indluence me into buying a more sensible respectful looking car and was considering a Beams Altezza as a happy compromise seeing as i want a fast car thats rear wheel drive japanese and i cant get my hands on a Beams mr2. My bro had an IS200 which was nice but not the fastest thing on the road by any stretch

totally different kinds of car i know but i love my Two to bits and want to know how they compare by experience before making any decisions - any owners in warrington?

    cheers

    magic

    I've got a supercharged IS200 and an MR2 Turbo.

You can't really compare the two, they are just too different.

The IS200 is a great car in supercharged tune, it has bags of torque, and a great whine when you fit the induction kit. Lovely car to drive, comfortable, all the toys etc.

MR2 is more for 'outright thrills', good fun to drive, fast etc

Like I say, you can't compare the two.

If your after power, steer away from a standard n/a IS200, they just don't cut the mustard. Go for a supercharged version, or get the Altezza with the beams engine.

  10. Hello.

As I am looking for a used TTE supercharger I was wondering if there is some service on the charger when it has bee running some miles?

How long do they last and should I be critical buying a charger gone say 50 k miles?

How do you guys think of the value price on a charger that has been used 50k instead of a new one?Should the price be much lower than a new?

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Jens

They are a sealed unit, never need servicing. They are TUV approved I beleive for the german market, and were designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle.

As for the price, you offer what you think it is worth, market forces will dictate the actual value ;)
