Being able to start the climate control remotely using the app is brilliant in cold weather.  But, as you said, the wing mirrors don't defrost.  You have to wait until you are in the car and can press the button for the heated wing mirrors and rear screen.

It is a couple of minutes for them to defrost - but you are sitting in a lovely warm car so not much of a burden!

Just checked mine this morning - my mirrors do heat with the remote control heating app. To clarify, I hadn't switched on rear screen/mirror demist when leaving the car last night (probably resets to off when ignition turned off I suspect).

Same spec. as yours John. Perhaps get it checked.

  2. I reset the average mpg on filling the tank. Having travelled 405.1 miles I then refilled and calculated the fuel economy. The reading on the dash indicated an average of 54.1 however, on calculating my fuel usage (4.546 litres gallon equivalent) I was astonished at the accuracy as my calculations revealed 54.61 mpg.

Although using the same filling station the only variable could have been a different pump dispensing a slightly different amount - I always stop at the first click. Never had any car where the car's estimation was so close to real world results.

  3. I purchased a pre-reg Premium Plus UX saving over £6.5k on retail in the process. Unlikely deals will be available on latest generation first orders.

1st owner or second owner not relevant anymore - smart money on buying pre-reg and saving a hill of money. No stigma anymore on 2nd owner status.

Some outlets need to pre-reg to secure volume bonus - or so it was back in the day. If that is not a thing anymore someone will raise their hand.

  4. Being ex-industry I am only too aware of the impact negative reviews can have on a dealer and am aware when they are blatantly wrong. To that effect, I advise any dealer I am with that I will not give any (negative) feedback if there is an issue and allow them to rectify it. KPI (key performance indicators) can easily be skewed by vindictive reviews. I will give positive reviews where merited but feel it necessary to balance these erroneous reviews that can be very harmful.

Did it take much force?, I tried to do mine and it wouldn't budge either way. I assume the sliding split plastic collar on the stem is there to stop you forcing the mirror too far up, that's well free so it's got room to move up but just won't.

That is just there to cover the wiring. It moves on a ball and socket type arrangement. Perhaps yours is at its highest setting. it pivots towards the interior and in an arc upwards (or the reverse if it is at its highest position). Having pivoted upwards (if not already) then adjust the mirror. As Don says it doesn't need much force.

The headlight height is adjusted automatically by a link on the rear suspension.  Technically that is fixed but you can unofficially adjust the headlight aim individually.

Thanks Don, I'll have a look at that when I get a chance.

Interestingly the AHB is a bit iffy during dusk but fine when fully dark. The engagement button on the end of the stalk makes it easy to cancel full beam when necessary.
