I recently had the Lexus hand free kit fitted to my RX 300 and am very dissapointed. Firstly, when listening to hands free the incoming call is only heard throught the nearside door loudspeaker, rather than through the full sound system - very cheap for £475 worth of kit. Also anyone outside the vehicle (when it is stationary) can hear every word the incoming caller is saying (worth checking out if YOU have one!). Has anyone had a similar experience and know how to get the dealer to remedy this unfortunate design fault on the part of Lexus!!

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the RX is good for the odd dirt track, camp site of snowy day etc. What about the power - does anyone feel it is underpowered, lack of grunt overtaking etc??

Hi everybody
Like several of you guys I am near to purchasing a new RX 300. But I see it is a little slower and less powerfull than the equivalent BMW. Also no one talks about its off road capabilities. Does anyone feel it is underpowered at all and has anyone used it off road to any great degree? I have driven one and really like it. But have not driven a BMW or a Mercedes. Also how does it compare to the Toureg?

Great to hear such excellent comments. I test drive mine in a few days time. Has anyone noticed a differerent ride quality due to lack of air suspension, or been off road and noticed as different handling due to electric rear motor? Has the car lost any of its great ride or handling qualities (I have an RX300 at the mo)?
