I'm definitely interested in one of the two, is yours a removable one?

thanks for your reply. Can you tell me how you adapted the wiring to use an aftermarket amp ?
regards,
Sai
All the details are in this thread.
It was all fairly straight forward, but let me know if you have any questions.
-
AFAIK there is no facsia adaptor for the RHD MK1 GS300 so you'll have to either make one yourself or have one made. A few people on here have done this..
I adapted the wiring to run an aftermarket amp from the standard headunit which was fairly simple.

Lol and the import aristo one is definately 12" as its next to me.. and 4 ohm
Do you get a different headunit in the Aristo as well?
-
Mine's definiteley 2 Ohm, then again mine is a 10" and in your other thread you said yours was 12".
Is/was yours an import?
-
Mine is defintely a 10", as it's sat next to me and was replaced with a 10" kenwood.
-
If you're using the sub from your GS, bear in mind it's 2 Ohms and most cheaper amps won't run 2 Ohms bridged.
-
It's ten inch and I'm pretty sure it's made by Pioneer
EDIT: Pioneer 88160-3A12D, 2 Ohm. Doesn't mention power rating.
If you're after one I've got a fully working one sat around.

Copy them on to CD-R?

This has been on eBay at least three times since I started looking at GS300s last year. Not sure why it's never sold before.

Yes, it certainly can be done from the mobile or any phone. Massive red tape though to make it commercially. Independant testing, legalities, all sorts.
It's something I've been working on [vehicle wise] for a while, but getting it to even be looked at to be passed is a hurdle to say the least. (and very costly)
The system works well as I use it now to shut off TV's walls remotely when the rental hasn't been paid. (It's amazing how quickly they can do a bank transfer 30 mins before the match starts....)
I used to have a TrakM8 tracker on my FTO which, as well as tracking the car, could immobilise it by text message.

Same problem with mine i have two remotes and both are the same dispite changing the batterys in both, have to be standing very close to the car .asked lexus to look at it but they had no luck either .sounds like a nice car you have got what colour is it.
I've got A MKI GS300 Sport and it's the same. I've always assumed that's how it's meant to be.

It's DRM encumbered WMA. I think there are different levels of subscription that dictate what you can do with the music.

jaybo: If Andy isn't interested I am. Let me know how much you're after.

I've heard rumours the government is going make these detectors illegal again using a new law, has anyone else heard this
AFAIK they are only trying to ban laser/radar detectors, GPS based devices would remain legal.
-
Cheers, I'll give that a go when I get home.
-
Does anyone have a guide to removing the headunit?
-
I was hoping to get rid of the noise without suppressors, but it's looking like that will be the only way. I'll have more of a play tonight to see what I can come up with.

My previous auto car (Mitsubishi FTO) would automatically change down a gear if it started to runaway with itself down a hill, etc. In fact, as it was a tiptronic "sports" car, it actively encouraged you to drop a gear to lose some speed.
