  1. Update for reference.

Just got an e mail stating that the NX F sport which we ordered in March last year has gone into production.

I have cancelled the order and brought an RX last month (which I love and use the link app for) but the NX order has not been deleted from my app yet.

Hope that everyone waiting get theirs soon enough.

  2. After waiting for almost a year, I have finally given up hope and brought a 2020 RX from a different Lexus dealer.

The main worrying factor was the lack of communication from my local dealer even after multiple emails and phone calls. Last update in October saying that delivery has been postponed again.

Thought of leaving the Lexus brand, but difficult to make that decision based on one dealers interaction.

Now to cancel my order and get the refund back. Not looking forward to service visits.

So I will be moving to the RX forum, hoping everyone get their cars as early as possible.

  3. Contacted my dealer 3 days ago to see if there is any update. No reply from him so far, last email in October saying an April delivery.

350h F sport ordered in the first week of March 22.

Looking into getting an used Rx as I have a young family but worried about customer service given the lack of communication.

Will give it a week to see if there is any feedback from the dealership, if not I will possibly go for a Volvo XC60.

I read the same too and considered 4 companies (in Aug 22). Motor Easy and Gap Insurance both asked too many questions when trying to get an online quote so I didn't go any further. Direct Gap wanted £399 and Ala £395, both for 4 years cover. I went with Ala, not for the £4 saving but because they had more positive customer service reviews.

Thanks, that's good to hear, did the dealership give any quotes?Just forward thinking as my car is still in the processing stage.

I have my fingers crossed for you Thomas -

I’m so old (71) that not only did I work for BA but its predecessor too…BOAC. BOAC in my time flew Boeing 707s and VC10s. It was said that the Boeing could only take off due to the curvature of the Earth. In my humble opinion the VC10 specifically built for “hot and high” airfields, along with the Lockheed Constellation and Concorde are the most elegant aircraft ever built.

Hope you get your Lexus soon. 👍

Ha , the things you learn!. Just was thinking the flat earthers had a tough time at that point.

Oh Frabjous Day! Just got this from Lexus UK HQ….

    >>- hot off the press, our systems show that your car is being built and assembled today in Japan<<

It was ordered first week of March 22 and now with a provisional ETA at my dealership of March 8th. Got a special plate for it too - I’m retired BA staff.

Hopefully the next production line will be for sonic Grey, one can always hope!. As a virtual flight simmer myself may I ask what does the number plate signify? Excuse my ignorance.

This is my first post so hello everyone! My name is Klaudiusz, I’m from Poland. I found this forum looking at similar issues that we face in Poland. A long story short:

    order date: 29.12.2021

version: AWD middle trim with 360camera, 14inch display, HUD, 20 inch alloys.

first update: moved from Sept 2022 to Noc 2022.
second update: moved from Nov to Dec

third update: moved to March 2023.
    last update: june 2023.

so from initial 9 months it is 18 months.

we face exactly the same issues as you. Lexus Poland do not respond to our emails. There is no information from dealership.
what is interesting: my trim will not get 360camera. They just informed me, you will not get it, but your discount will be 500£. Which is a joke.
what is interesting what I read, your orders have some priority on the list, so you are lucky guys. All middle trims MY2023 have cancelled 360cameras.

I owned 5 brand new Toyotas. Camry, 2x RAV4, Aygo, Yaris. When I thought I will go to premium brand, the service will be also premium. But instead, Lexus offered a new people in middle of 2022 F-sport version but for regular price. No discount. I felt really ugly, I am forced to wait and Lexus didnt want go offer me this car, but instead they offer with regular price. What would definitely accelerate at least some of the orders.
I have a feeling that Lexus behaved like cheap Indian car company. Absolutely no taste. I am one of the thousands that will have orders moved and one of the hundreds that will not get 360camery with stupic discount that I dont want.
what is interesting you can order middle trim but FWD and that will be available in 1 month. Unbelievble….

Welcome to the forum. I understand your frustration but please stop belittling other countries. Having experienced Indian dealerships I can assure you that they are fabulous.

    Dzien dobry.

Getting a bit miffed now….ordered a NX350H F Sport in early March 22 and told to expect it December(ish), this later became March ‘23, now April or May. Neither of these delays were passed on to me I’ve sort of chased the dealer. Frustrating to have a deteriorating delivery date compounded by not being proactively informed by the dealer. Maybe they fear a cancellation when bringing bad news?
Apparently they’ve stopped taking orders for 2023…..

I’d be interested to know EXACTLY what’s holding the supply chain up and what’s being done to fix it…

I am in the same boat. Same order time, same specs and same delays.

On the plus side my dealer does update every 3 months or so. Currently stating delivery in April, this is probably going to change again.

I took advantage of the scrappage scheme they had at that time but it's looking very unlikely my car is going to last till April. I have started looking at XC 60s available for immediate delivery as a backup.

That will just devalue 450h's and I certainly wouldn't be happy!

Unlikely as they have stopped taking any new orders. Don't think there are currently too many people waiting for that to impact market prices as a whole. Again I don't think this will happen, does not make any sense as I guess a 350h needs lesser chips than the 450.

Or is it due to carbon offsetting goal for Toyota?

Either way if this is true, I wish the dealers contact the customers soon so we can make an informed decision.

  11. Had an update from my dealer saying that my 350h EDD has been pushed to April now. Ordered 8th March 22. Initial delivery date was December, which was moved to February and now to April.

He did say that the dates are quite fluid and this can come forward again, but I am not sure this was to keep me interested or not.

Hope it is, may it last.

  12. I think another factor we have to consider is human psychology, I would like to keep my car topped up above at least 30 percent all the time. This is different from ICE cars as I know I can find fuel in my next stop and it will only take 10 minutes of my time max. Even if I ran out, I still can get my Jerry can and refill it, or a quick phone call to my friends or AA will sort it. Of course this never happened, but the logic which allows me to be calm when driving long distances is all these factors.

With EV, when the range drops below 50 percent I will be thinking of the next fuel stop, worrying if the next one will work or not, the possible road closures and diversions which affects my range to destination and try to keep it topped off at all possible times.

Of course this thinking might improve when the infrastructure improves, but again if majority is thinking the same way and in a 100 percent EV future we might struggle to find a charger.

  13. I had big hopes for the RZ. Given the waiting time of NX I thought i would move to RZ and be a green champion in my local grocery runs, rolling my eyes in despair and throwing my arms in the air with exaggerated desperation as local shoppers get out of their oil drinking behemoths.

But as I saw the range my brain started to work, quite slow to be sure and through the very foggy COVID induced haze it has been.

In a few years as BEV become more mainstream the infrastructure is hardly going to cope up. I know most people say nobody is going to drive 200 miles at a stretch, but if there is limited charging options in the road or if it's clogged or not working then every single mile becomes vital. Realistically charging at your home and hopefully at your destination might be the reasonable assumption here. I can't see myself pushing another car out of the port or stealing a charger from another car happening.

So on that happy thoughts, I closed my RZ plans, steadied my mind as I cross the path of the EV crowd and waiting anxiously for my NX, which hopefully will be here before the second coming.
