Shocks were £289.50 each! Changing spark plugs probably was quite a long job. Just for OEM Oil was £89.99 it all adds up with a Lexus - empty wallet but peace of mind!!!

If it helps? I have recently paid for a major service, cam belt, serpentine belt, water pump and two front shocks. All service parts were either Lexus or OEM and of course the MOT. My local garage charged total £3386.91 the labour part was 28 hours costing £1456.

Brian, I have the same issue - plus my radio does not work? Let me know how you resolve your problem

No KC - I have not yet sorted the stereo out! Probably just laziness on my part, as we only really use the car when the sun is shining, and then we don't worry about the stereo then.
Let me know how you get on please

I have noticed these net pockets on several makes of sports cars - anybody knows if there is an original use for them?

Has anybody reported to their insurance companies this modification? if so, what was the result?

Hello Neil
Yes, the fade/balance do display on the screen. The other strange thing is the wooden cover has stopped working? Hopefully I will get round to checking the fuse in the next day or two, if able. This all seems to have happened when I had a flat Battery - which may have nothing to do with anything.
If the sun comers out, it will not stop me from enjoying the hood down - assuming that will work!!!!!!!!

That is really useful information Neil, thank you.
I don't suppose you know offhand which fusebox and the number of the fuse to check?
The head seems to be following the buttons pressed and 'plays' cd's all without sound.

Thanks, Gary your post gives me hope!! My radio has ceased to work or omit any sound to be correct. The radio would appear to be working both on CD's and broadcast but no sound.
I will obviously check al fuses and perhaps check the radio connections first, and then move on to the amplifier.
Hope it's as simple as a plug worked loose!

Thanks Uncle Bob - Front shocks. Lexus have come back with a price of £240 each, so I have told my local garage to accept and get them fitted. Thankfully nothing untoward on the MOT or service - so looking forward to our tootles around the island in the sunshine 😎

My 2002 SC430 I have been told has failed its MOT on leaking shocks - my local garage has asked me is there anywhere they can get non Lexus ones or do they have to get those at £0000's
Anybody any links etc to buy replacements?
Thanks
Philip

I won't be doing anything, but the garage has instructions to change the cam belt kit - which I have always considered to be water pump, tensioners etc.

I am very interested in this topic. My SC430 has done 92,000 miles and had the belts changed in 2012 at 79844 miles - opinion please should I get them changed? when only done 12156 miles?
Views and thoughts would be very welcome - Philip

Of course, you could go really swish and add these. On eBay item no 283456057540 - other suppliers available.
Good luck Philip

Anybody know what size the pie dish bolts are? Looking on eBay they seem quite expensive at around £3.00 + each times 40 that could work out quite expensive!!!!!

Hello Paul
Do these wheels have working TPMS units in them?
Thanks

Not wanting to teach granny to suck eggs - remember when buying stuff from the US there will be duty and freight costs.

Has anybody actually had to have any welding done?

I think it is a shame that my SC430 had only done 18,000 miles before the time for change came up. Had it done though - just in case..........!
