Can I just ask in your experience if Lexus doesn't really offer any complimentary maintenance service to brand new car purchases?

I have called Lexus customer service and they were able to tell me the ship where my car is on. Ever since that happened, I have tracked the ship on my own rather than waiting for the dealer to give me an update.

A.. That makes more sense then. I have ordered mine last September as well but ETA would be the 18th of this month. If I only knew that they also install dashcams back then, I would have done the same thing. 😊 I also asked them to register the car in September instead for the new plates.

I just have asked my dealer and they have told me it would cost £430 for the nextbase 380gwx. Different prices per dealership i suppose.

Just call them after 2 weeks and say you want a settlement figure. If your loan conditions do not show an ERC penalty then they any charge one. 

Some people adviced me to settle the loan within 14 days and the company would only charge a few days worth of interest. I just don't know if that only applies to their specific finance company.

That is what I was planning to do but the salesperson in the dealership said that I will need to wait for 3 months/90 days before settling the finance as I will be penalised or will have to pay the 3 months worth of interest if I settle it within the month after starting it.

Sorry, first time car buyer here, a bit out of topic, I have placed an order for a NX350h last September and the sales representative and me have come up with a price that we were happy with as he gave me a £1,000 deposit contribution if I finance the car. I can pay cash but for the £1k contribution I have agreed to finance. We have not talked about the specifics of the finance but I went ahead and paid a deposit of a £1,000 to order the car. Can I ask when is the best time to talk about the specifics of the finance? I don't have a car to part exchange as well.

Thanks for your response guys. I became a bit worried as I have ordered the dark rose and prefer the dark red colour as well rather than a bright red one.

On the site, it does look like more of a dark red colour but when I saw actual pictures of it, it looks more of a bright red colour. Can anyone provide a feedback about it? Thanks in advance. I was able to talk to 3 dealers. One told me that they could not give me any discount at all. The other one offered me a discount of only £100. The last one gave me a discount of around £2k plus £1k more for getting a finance with them.

I have been watching videos on youtube and I find them quite helpful. It was just hard for me to find a starting price to haggle with. One dealer has already told me that they cannot give discounts. I am waiting for another dealer now.

How much car buying have you done before, DC?  Is it the 22 NX 450h you’re talking about?

Firstly, do your research.  You know the model you want so check out what other Lexus dealers are pricing it at.  If you find a contender, print out the info and be prepared to present it as a car you’d considered but you don’t really want to travel that far.

Some dealers will like to have a cash buyer, but others will say it makes no difference - but that’s because they make extra profit selling you a purchase plan.  Some dealers may be more inclined to haggle a quick sale at the end of the month - or their financial year - when they get bonuses if they reach sales targets.

You know what you’re prepared to pay, so if it’s less than the Dealer’s asking, be prepared to walk away. Do it regretfully - pointing out that you’ll now have to ring around to see what else is available.  

If this is a good local Dealer, then you might point out that you’ll consider taking out a Service Plan.  I renew mine every three years and both parties benefit.  

Consider what extras could be offered.  Forget the free, dealer applied Extra Paint Protection- it’ll be badly applied,  So maybe  there are better mats available.  Or a SpaceSaver wheel instead of the injectable glop.   Or a deal on fitting a Satnav.  And right now, even a full tank might be worth negotiating for.

Forgive me if all this comes across as statements of the ‘bleedin obvious’ that you’ve already been through- and I’m sure others will come along with even better suggestions.  

But ultimately it’s your money they’re after - and you don’t have to be embarrassed about that!

It has drastically increased in price in just a year. What starting price should I initially present to them with that price point? Thanks again!
