  1. Hi again. First of all, thanks again to Andy, because although I couldn't find it in the manual, I managed to find the "smart entry" option and cancel it on the infotainment system.

Now I only have one further question, I guess this is not only for LC owners but any owner of a car with smart entry. When the keyless entry and start is deactivated, does this cancel the RF signal of the fobs, making it impossible to be stolen that way (copying the signal)?

    Thanks again

No problem Sergio - happy to help.

With regards to how to permanently disable the keyless entry system - I would imagine that there is reference to it in the car's manual (assuming that it can indeed be done on a 2017 LC500). Failing that, hopefully another LC500 owner on this forum will be able to help.

Be aware though that disabling the system permanently will obviously remove all of the advantages of such a system.

Maybe the option is not available then, I can't find it on the lock/unlock section of the manual.

Thanks for your kind help, Andy.

    Hi Sergio.

Yes, that's correct - the disabling of the keyless entry, via the method you have described, will be undone once you next use the key fob (i.e. the keyless entry system will be re-activated). So yes - you do need to do this every time you lock the car.

Thank you so much Andy, that was fast and helpful.

I guess then I will just do that with the spare key.

Regarding the second answer, would you please elaborate? I´ve failed to find said options, but mostly because I don´t know where to look for it? And the answer is ´yes´, I would like to go that far. So many keyless entry thefts in my area lately, it´s crazy. I use Faraday pouches with both keys, and I installed a bollard in my driveway...but still. I want to think that disabling the keyless entry, also disables the RF signal that they reproduce?

Once again, thank you so much for your time and help.

  4. Hi fellas

Sorry for reviving this post, but somebody here mentioned that pressing in the fob the unlock button twice while mantaining the lock button pressed down, would cancel the keyless entry.

Ive tried this in my LC500 2017 and it actually works. After completing this command sequence, I can´t unlock the door with the keys on me.

However, after using the unlock button in the fob to unlock and then lock the car, they keyless entry resets and activates again (i.e. after the first locking/unlocking, I can again unlock the car by pressing on the handle).

Am I suppose to do this sequence EVERY TIME I lock the car, if I want to deactivate keyless entry??

    Thanks for your help!

Yep - that's the way to update it - good luck.  One tip when entering the Device ID and validation codes into the website is that an uppercase letter "i" looks the same as a lowercase letter "L" so that threw me the fist time I entered the code!

Makes sure the flash drive is fat32 formatted too

Thanks for the help! Update didn't work. I formatted the flash drive, that part worked flawlessly, same with the device ID, all worked out and no problems. Only after putting the required code in the Lexus tech website, an error message appears. And if I try to use the activation code I got when I purchased the maps, also an error message. I've read in the map update post, that is an error that means that Lexus database have an incorrect activation code for my car...I tried contacting them, let's see what happens.

Hi Sergio and welcome from an homonym. Congratulations on the car even though I am not a fan of black.

Thanks friend! The car is dark grey, but I am not gonna deny that with the chrome accents blacked out it looks quite black...

    Hi,

I've just been trying (without success) to update the maps on my 2017 LC500, following the instructions on lexus-tech.eu.

My current navdb_version is 860 which I understand is 2017, so it has not been updated by the dealer at the services

I downloaded the Lexus Premium system (MM17 & MM19) Maps from lexus-tech.eu onto FAT32 16gb usb stick and followed the instructions.

    - Entered my device ID into lexus-tech.eu

    - Plugged the usb stick into my LC and, after validating the files, it asked it I wanted to update to 2019 maps. Hit "Yes" and it gives me an activation code - so far so good.

    - Entered the activation code into lexus-tech.eu and it gives me error message

"IE5585-Not able to determine product mapped to SKUID"

Has anyone else tried to update the maps on their LC500 or experienced this issue?

    Many thanks for advice,

    Andy

I know I just arrived and I am necroposting already, but this is exactly what has happened to me when trying to download the 2022 maps.

When I try to do it through the Lexus tech website, all goes fine exactly like the OP described. Downloaded the maps to a proper formatted FAT32 32GB pen drive, started the install with no issues, and then the error message   "IE5585-Not able to determine product mapped to SKUID" appeared right after putting down the request code from the sat nav screen on the Lexus tech website.

I also have the final activation code from purchasing the 2022 maps (in all fairness didn't pay, the dealer included as a token to buy an approved used), and that activation code also doesn't work when putting it in after the request code.

To sum up, after putting the device ID correctly on Lexus tech website, then putting the request ID from the satnav, and the error appears. But if I go ahead and put the activation code that I was given when purchasing the map in My Lexus, a different error appears: 'unable to validate the code' or similar. So no way around it.

If anybody has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. Tried everything. I just contacted technical support of Lexus through the contact form, hope they get back to me. The dealership is aware of the problems, they said they opened a case with Lexus UK, but no contact after a week. I understand they can be busy, but I thought there's no harm in asking here.

Hi there and lovely car.  Just wanted to ask.  Are you downloading the update to a USB stick and then updating the maps via a USB port in the car (probably in the centre storage) or are you performing an Over the Air (OTA) update by connecting your car to the WiFi?

Reason I ask is that if you perform an OTA update, the speed camera notification sound will be broken, whereas in the proper USB update, it works perfectly.

Hi there. I downloaded the 2022 maps to my computer, and tonight I'll pass that onto a 32GB flash USB drive and with that and the code, install the update in the car. I hope it works, because I know some people have had problems, and even the dealership was unable to update them, what makes me doubt...

Looking good and I'm sure you will be delighted with the car.👍

Thanks friend. Like I mentioned, it's a beautiful car. But what surprised me the most is how amazing it is inside. The LC500 cabin is a very nice place to be.

I have never had a Lexus before, so I guess that this is the norm for them.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Beautiful car. Congratulation.

Chrome is for old American cars, Elvis Presley style. Big and imposing.

Not possible to get the rear lisence plate in white? Yellow would fit a yellow car. Or a multicolour car.

    Thanks!

The legal rear plate in the UK is yellow, you can of course have something else like a show plate but you risk getting a hefty fine.

  11. Hello all,

First of all, thank you to the admins for such a well organize group. Loving the member discounts and the forum information, really useful tools. Thank you also to all of you that posted here lots of information, it´s been such a great help for me...

I just bought a used Lexus LC500h sports plus 2017 with 39k miles on it, in grey. Interior is red and black. I am not a friend of chrome, so the first thing I´ve done is blacking out the front trim, the trim above the taillights, and the chrome arches. Right now I am in the process to try and update the maps, got the code and downloading them now...wish me luck!!
