  1. I have, recently purchased a used Lexus NX300h Takumi which came with two sets of keys each with this strange dongle attached to the keyring. The dongles appear to have a Lexus logo and I presume this is what what this thread is all about. I have a few questions if anybody can help me please

    • Were these immobilisers part of a package deal provided by Lexus Insurance ?
    • The immobiliser has activated on at least three occasions now and I have no idea how to correct this to start the car
    • The dongles have been into the Lexus dealer who have replaced the batteries but I have still experienced a failure to start
    • Does the immobilser need to be registerd to my adress now that it has a new owner and could this be the reason it is activated as it is not registering the new overnight parking address. I am not insured with Lexus Insurance, is this a requirement as their sysem is installed. Is the system some kind of tracker and Lexus Insurance know where you are at any specific time
    • Can the system be removed from the car altogether as I realy need a vehcle I can rely upon and confident that it will go each time I get into it
    • I am on the verge of handing the car back and returning to Jaguar out of pure frustration

Any help and pointers would be greatly apreciated please.

  2. I have recently purchsed a 21 plate NX300h having downgraded from an RX450h as it was too big for my needs nowadays. My question is if I can remote start the car in order to activate the heater and defrost the windscreenetc prior to me getting into the car. This was a featute on my former jaguars and was wondering if a similar type of feature is available on Lexus.

    Thanks in anticipation

  3. I have in November taken delivery of a 22 model RX450h and still trying to understand a few settings.

My question is, how do I sent the headlamps to stay on for say 30seconds when leaving the car and locked it when arriving home and the provided light from the headlamps illuninates my way to the front door. This feels like a simple question and should be a simple answer but I am darned if I can find how to do it as Vehicle settings headlight settings does not give me a solution. Perhaps this is a feature that is not available on the UK model.

    Any advise would be apreciated

  4. See my previous answer elsewhere on this forum, if you Googlr Ackerman Effect it will explain it all. Quite a common feature on 4 x 4 cars in the colder months, you'll find it goes away in the warmer months. Just come over from Jaguar and was quite a topoc of conversation there at times. I believe you can get some tyres that overcome this effect

    see this

    Hope this helps

  5. How do I remote start my RX450h 2021 model. I have recently bought this car having moved over from a Jaguar F Pace. On the Jag I was able to start the car "from the kitchen table" and the car would be all defrosted and warmed up 10 minutes later when I went to use it. Can I do something similiar with th Lexus RX450h on the UK model. You Tube videos suggest I can but they are mostly non UK dealer videos which possibly relate to older models. Anybody know if I can pleas.

  6. If you Google Ackerman effect you will find an explanation about how tyres will cause this effect especially when cold, it does not seem to happen during the summer warmer months. There are some tyres which overcome this problem. I have just come over to a RX450h from a Jaguar F Pace and the problem was a well known issue on the Jaguar and I imagine it will be similar on other 4 x 4's as well. I now also get this clump when reversing out of my drive and the steering is in full lock. I hop this helps . It's all to do with the geometry of the wheels turning arch and the loads on the individual wheels
