I am sure Mr Exhaust in Reigate can fix your current exhaust. You'll be given warranty on the repair too.

    Nothing beats OEM in silence.

My experience with Stainless steel exhaust components is that these are longer lasting but more noisy than mild steel originals.  Having said that though some stainless steel replacements are made from thinner gauge or lower quality than others, so a good recommendation worth getting.

    Thank you Barry.

Thanks for the tip. Will call Mr Exhaust. Interesting re OEM = Silence. I hadn’t thought of that. I suspect that silence is more important in an LS which is built for serene silence and comfort. Always fancied a 460 as a Sunday car but a bit extravagant.

Thanks Malcolm, that would be very kind. Cheers, David

  4. Hello all, one of my back boxes and part of the pipe has fallen off, currently in my boot as per photo. GS450 Mechanic says it’s all too corroded to weld back on.  I’m having trouble sourcing new boxes (mechanic said I need both with a section of pipe) IMG_2510.thumb.jpeg.c7e3b15598aeaa0e36e33378cebf515c.jpegunless I travel from London to Leeds to see Tony Banks who appears only to supply and fit. Any recommendations would be great!

    Thanks very much

  5. Thank you gents. I've just bought a gorgeous GS450 and was rather hoping to find something a bit more seamless and discreet. There's a BMW mirror specialist out there who invisibly fits new mirrors but not to Lexuses https://www.mirrorjohn.com/about.php and there is an American site who repair auto dimming mirors to a Lexus for 99 dollars https://www.radar-mirror.com/mirror_repair/. Perhaps there's someone in the UK who does the equivalent.

As I have done with my Honda Legend door mirrors ....  works a treat and cost about 20 squid i think at that time

OEM replacement mirrors are stupidly expensive

Thank you Malc. I can do without auto dimming. Does anyone have an idea who could cut a mirror to size and fit it? I'm pretty handy but glass scares me!

  7. Hi all, my very first post. Four days in to Lexus ownership and very happy. Have an 07 GS350 with what I believe is a common problem. Rear view mirror distorted and lined. Lexus want £1300 as the mirror can’t he replaced without being attached to the whole unit.

I believe it’s caused by fluid relating to a darkening anti dazzle solution. I can see one company in the States who will fit a mirror and they do accept shipping from abroad. But mixed reviews with reliability. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK who can deal with it?

    Many thanks.
