Yep! This looks the best deal out there, thanks. A separate search revealed that the ‘HSB’ range still being sold by Halfords are the older items and have been superceded by the newer YBX range. I’m ordering via ‘batterycharged.co.uk’. As you say, £94 deleivered.

Time to replace the Battery on my 2005 SC430. Obviously need something heavy duty with a good guarantee as a direct replacement. Just looking around online, could anyone tell me, would this particular one be a good option?

Welcome. If you read back through all the past posts on this forum, like I first did, you’ll discover tons of useful things about our fabulous car.

Well done Perry! 👍
Will we see it in June?
Of course 😂

That must feel very frustrating Anthony. You’ll be getting chauffeured to the club weekend then?

Hi everyone, due to a house move and I pondered keeping the bag, but now that it's resurrected it must go to a good home. The bag is £50 and I would prefer collection from Whittlebury, just south of Towcester.
Hi Gerald. I’m interested in the bag but not sure if/when I would be able to collect it. I don’t suppose you’re going to the annual club meet 24/25th June are you?

Hi Nick. Great photos. Makes all my little projects so far look very minor.

Yes,I’m very pleased with the new look. I’ve only driven it around the block so far, just to check there’s no wheel wobble or rubbing. I need to go for a run and can then re-torque the spacers.

Hi Perry, because the sensors were always fitted after the car left tho factory so therefore fitted by either a dealer or someone else there is no set place where the speaker is to be located. I put mine just at the front of the lower rear seat so I knew I would be able to hear it. So I would start there as if it is really loud it probably isn’t in the boot area and with the control unit in the boot the cable to the speaker in my case wouldn’t reach to the dash board area. The lower rear seat easily removed just by pulling up either side.
Ah, thanks Glyn. I’ve just come back in from the garage after another SC430-related project so I will have a break and then go out and pull the seat.

Does anyone have a diagram for the location of the rear parking sensor speaker. I’m going with the foam and tape solution but despite its loud volume, I am having difficulty identifying its exact whereabouts other than hearing it coming from the back somewhere.
-
🤔 I too would be wary of the tape eventually fouling the mechanism in some way or other. I would have thought something like plastic clips originally held loose parts in place and the reason the roof would suddenly develop a rattle is that a retaining clip has broken free somewhere. Maybe someone could sit in the back (yeah, I know…) while you drive around, hopefully to pinpoint the exact area the rattle is coming from. Then a parts search online may reveal if there should be some form of clip(s) in that area?

Continuing my ‘copy-what-Anthony-has-tested-first’ mode of operation, this morning I received and fitted the exact Chinese boot struts you posted about a while back.
I have now ordered a set of these spacers from the same online seller. Despite their comparatively low price, you haven’t reported any issues/crashed/burned or skidded into a ravine, etc. so I’m assuming they’re ok 😄- 1

Sorry about upsetting some members. I did not know anything about Richard Walker until I purchased this car from him.
Hey Nigel, welcome to this very helpful and knowledgable forum and congrats on your excellent purchase. I acquired my 2005/6 facelift model 6 months ago and couldn’t be happier with it. Well, maybe if the rear seats were just a fraction more usable. And the aerial wasn’t a 1970s clunky electric model. And the sat nav screen had a few more pixels….😄
I didn’t know the back story to Rich Walker either. That’s the great thing about this forum, you learn something new every visit. Maybe catch you at the club meeting in June?

Thanks Ant, good price too for your spacers, considerably less than my 30mm H & R ones 🙄. Would like a photo of yours to see how they look and I’ll be posting mine once fitted.
And now both Anthonys have got me thinking I need spacers…..

Are we supposed to have a fuse removal tool in one of the fuse boxes? I had occasion to remove a micro fuse from the passenger footwell box a short while ago and it wasn’t easy.
