  1. I have been biding my time waiting for Lexus Brighton to contact me.As ,of course, this did not happen I phoned last week.

They seemed to have only the vaguest notion of what I was talking about and suggested I phone LGB.I spoke to a lady there who treated me in the most off hand manner and seemed to object to the fact that I knew anything about a "fix" She said there was something on the website but it was for internal use only.

She suggested that if I had not complained to the dealer then nothing could be done. I said I had just done so before speaking to her!

I went back to Lexus Brighton who said they would undertake research and come back to me.They did not ,as always when I call and when I followed up they said they had to have more time but had spoken to other dealers who knew nothing about the problem. I am awating another call but I get the impression I should not hold my breath.

I did tell them to look at this site but I got the feeling that that would not be an option.

  2. Hi All,

We have still not had a meeting or a conversation withh Steve Settle.

We have however been called by our delaerhsip principal at LEXUS SOUTHAMPTON - he has said that here is no dael to be doen with LGB but if we pay a substantial betterment cost and trade our car they are happy to trade it against any car we ant.

Well thanks a lot guys - any garage would do that for me!

They are all missing the point here.

We are fed up to the back teeth with a car that is fundamentally flawed.

My wife has now mailed Lexus Japan - see the posts on the 400h thread for all the contact details of the president and all the VP's - so well see what that brings forth.

She has also gotten onto Lexus Brussels but they have simply sent it back to customer care in the UK - and we all know what a waste of time that is don't we? The mail went to tyhe same chap who is supposed to be calling you all about the fix using the database of info I collated for them and which they seem to have forgotten about.

We will post as and when anything happens .

    Michael.

  3. Taken by local breakdown company (via RAC) on back of truck last Monday evening .Apparently oil seal gone in" transfer box"?.Part ordered and five hours work due to front suspension having to be dismantled.

Mechanic not now sure this is the problem so next report on Tuesday.

Remain less than pleased despite fully appreciating that "nothing is perfect" !

  4. These are the words uttered by my son when we returned from a trip tp London yesterday.Pulling up on the driveway I opened the door to find smoke pouring out from under my car ( RX 300 - 15 months old - 8500 miles) the smell was appalling.

Upon investigation I found oil spread across the under side of the vehicle and splashed under the wheel arches.

There was no warning of this whilst driving down the M23 etc,no odd noises,no smell,no warning lights,no change in water temperature.

To say I am less than happy would be an understatement.Don't know I agee with my son's sentiments having owned two Mercedes but at least I didn't encounter a problem like this.

I don't want to drive the vehicle until I know what is wrong - engine oil level fine as is gearbox but the oil under the car and on driveway ( other half furious) is red.

Will contact Lexus Brighton tomorrow.I want the keys collected from my office, vehicle collected from my home - on a trailer if necessary -a loan car and someone's absolute assurance that engine/gearbox/whatever has not in anyway been damaged.

I will advise of how things go but my faith in what has thus far been a very enjoyable experience, has been shot to pieces.

    :tsktsk:

  5. I have always struggled to see the screen clearly on a bright day and having looked at the handbook see that "day/night mode" will change dependant on the position of the headlight switch. This has never happened since I bought the car and wonder what I am missing.Have read and read handbook and fiddled in the car but there is always one display.

Is one dark and one light and which is which? If one could be dark during the day this would be a bonus!

  6. :crybaby:

Totally satisfied with RX since delivery in January other than a less than full fuel tank.

My first contact with Lexus Brighton since has been to order a rear bumper guard (now only available in black) which took 4 phone calls, not once phoned back despite promises,to be told one could be obtained the next day at which time I would be advised when it could be fitted. So far a week has elapsed with nothing!

I will not, as things stand, be voting Lexus best for customer service in any survey.Sad.
