The Dension Ice Link isn't available for Lexus.
-
Anyone considered one of these instead of a car PC yet? Cheap as chips if you pick one up on holiday in the US.
-
It's not available to purchase yet though. Q2 2005 is the expected release date.
I'm waiting for this to be released though it's a bit pricey

Purely for research purposes

I fitted mine yesterday, and last night driving around was fantastic :)
Easily fitted (although passenger side lamps a killer to get at) and at 6500K they're brighter than those in my last car (Mini Cooper S).
I was a bit concerned about dazzling oncoming traffic, but not a single person flashed me last night, and I drove past a few plod too.
As for the cost v benefit. I do a lot of distance / night driving due to work and the reduction in eyestrain is worth what equates to less than £2 / week for the time I'll own the car (which is only 3 weeks old)

The SE and Sport have an integrated Amp already, and what you're after is the holy grail of IS Audio tweaking, a simple switchable Aux input.
There's a few threads on this, and there's a few modification options as well, but if you're not technically minded I'd avoid these.
There's a thread in here about an aux in adaptor being constructed by a forum member which may be of interest to you, although we're still waiting for it to appear (it'll sell like hot cakes when it does though)

New MINI
Born and facelifted with another facelift coming next year!

I got the mats included with my new IS200 SE 10 days ago
If you're buying new, they're included in the spec.
If it's new to you, but not new, then it's a different matter.

I'd suggest going with a Bluetooth version of the car kit for future proofing. The hardwired kits mean you're tied to the one handset. Bluetooth means you can switch handsets, manufacturers etc.
Try the Nokia CARK 112
Or the Sony Ericsson HCB300
Upsides - No cradle, not tied to a specific phone, minimalist install
Downsides - No charging, no antenna

Scarface,
try dropping the icon size by 3 points, it should eliminate those shortcut arrows..
Looks even nicer then. ;)

On the newer IS's is this port used for the input for the Minidisc changer ??
And if it is, how is the MD changer controlled?
Can I connect to it using IceLink etc? Or is is completely bespoke?

1. Silver is the biggest selling car colour, full stop. A lot of people avoid black like the plague (pita to keep looking good)
2. There's a few clever souls on here that seem to have done it. I'm fitting a PDA based solution to mine (already own it so no sense spilling £3K on the option)
3. I'm in the same boat, but will only be putting down £5K and the rest on PCP. Press them for a lower interest rate as they have some Q4 deals much cheaper than the standard rate. But may only work if they need to make the numbers this month.
Mine's delivered next week, and I went through all the choices you did and finally opted for an IS200SE Manual.
Can't wait :)

Put me down for 5000K too, please.

I want some.
Not taken delivery of the car yet (next week :) ) but p/x ing a car with HIDs fitted and just know I'll miss them.
Cheers

I'd like one of these too, I'm waiting to take delivery of an 04 model next month and want to do the ipod integration.
-
I'm soon to be a new Lexus owner, waiting for my 200SE to be delivered, and need ot get organised for a couple of things, I've already been searching through the forums, but can't find all the answers.
A recommended installer for a car kit in Hampshire or details of how to mute the stereo on the 04 model
A recommended installer for parking sensors
If any of the above can do an iPod integration (Aux inputs are fine) that'd be a bonus too.
Thanks

HCB 300's in mine too. Fitted it myself in around an hour, including muting the stereo.
The only thing you see is the control which is under the heated seats switches and to the left of the ashtray.
It's got 3 phones set in it now and works like a charm :)
