so what your saying is that if i get a UK brain and CD and plug into an altezza it will work???
does that include the sat nav, cd and tv or does it need some modification to get it all to work?
if any one has done this already i would be greatfull if you could let me know how it turned out.
i was about to buy a brain from e-bay but am still not 100 % sure it will work B)
Its not a work out of the box solution you need some computer knowledge to install
hardware and load software, my article is intended to show steps required and possible solutions - but I do not have all items working yet.
Any PC with a TV Pal or NTSC out connection (RCA or S Video) will connect into the video connector, tv output is converted to NTSC RGB and displayed on the screen.
Sat Nav, cd and tv are software and tv is hardware loaded into the computer, so yes some work is required it is not off the shelf stuff.
Also note that a present there is a problem with video when the TV button is pressed.

I have started doing this on my Altezza, the following link gives
some details that I have started. It does allow the factory screen to be used
by a computer. :o

I am at the same stage, first I have to locate the amp then I agree we should be able to identify the speakers.
I have found speaker connections leaving the header unit.
Hope to resolve in next day or two.

Another idea for wiring harness which I'm going to use myself.
Since the stock unit is coming out, why not remove the connectors off the control board and make your own wiring harness.
I've purchased (from a car wrecker) a unit with faulty CD unit, removed the control board and then remove the connectors, in the process of making a wiring harness.
Carpurter will be housed inside old stock CD location with Motorised In Dash Monitor providing TV, Radio and Screen for MP3 and GPS.
I'll post an article soon.

OK I have not located a harness yet.
For wire connection points (labels) removed the ciruit board from the control unit, turn it over and you're find that each terminal is labelled on the board.
This applies to the three and two connector versions of the control board.
Happy wiring.

what conections are you after in particular, how do you intend to wire in your carputer, ther are a few of us that have already done installs,, have a look at the link in my siggy below for a start
Thank you for the reply, I'm wanting to connect from carputer to standard (Altezza) flip-up screen, I note in most installs a non standard screen has been used.
I'm considering using a VIA Epia motherboard (www.mini-box.com) with the LVDS option - RGB-01 Module this allows the module to be wired to an RGB screen, hence the need to know the screen pin outs.
DC to DC converter andITPS module (power control ) all from www.mini-box.com
The Sat Nav is still in the car, but does not work in NZ therefore I'm installing a USB GPS receiver onto the carputer.
Operating system will be Fedora core 2 linux, XMMS as music interface and GPSDrive for the GPS system.
OK I may have to change screen, but would like to give it my best before changing.
Cheers

Does anyone have the actual wiring connections for the dash lcd unit plug connections.
I'm in th process of building a Car CPU that will fit inside the standard CD unit, figured it is a great place to put it as the CD unit don't work.
