  1.

I think you're right Chris. It really is hard work to find something that falls into the same category as the Lexus.

I hate to sound snobby with all this - but it really is in a class of it's own. :D

Oh, and before anybody suggests it (which would be a good suggestion), I haven't got either the money or the garage space for the new IS. The IS I've got now only just fits in the garage !

Even the bloody owners club is the best I've seen !!

Hi Mate having same dilema my self. thinking of audi A3 2.0t FSI Quattro S line Spec Edition!!! But its proving to be a pain even asking for it the name is that long! Also equipment wise no one can touch Lexus! Just dont know what to do might feel different when had the Geometry sorted! .... If not she's a gonna!

  2. I made the 6 hour round trip today to get my geometry sorted by Tony. Driving back it was like a different car. The car gripped the road a lot better and it cornered better too. Got 2 new tyres as well for a very good price, as the dreaded inner tyre wear had struck big time. I would definately recommend a trip to Watford for the 'guru' to do his stuff.

    Thanks Tony

    Ally :D

    Kind words indeed.....Thank You.

It just does to show how geometry denies the luxury suspended within the Lexus.

Despite the tyre wear there was not one specific area to blame, but 8 or so were in conflict... an hour later you owned the drive the geo withheld.

With a subliminal smile i think few will reply to your thread...... that's a good thing.... most will read the title and think..... 'Yeah i know'

:D See you in 2000 miles.....

D See you in 2000 miles..... soz to but in but is this all the miles you can do in between having your geometry done? I do this in about 5 weeks

  3. I make the round-trip to Watford. It's not too bad as I live in Reading and work in Slough.

Just spoke with Tony the man himself. Sounds a top bloke who deffinatly knows what he's doing, told him basically I feeel like getting rid of the car at the moment because if handles so bad... he assured me that nothing 'serious' is wrong with the car its just been set up wrong on the geometry test. Will make the trip down to see him soon as hopfully he will sort the car out :crybaby:

please nobody shoot me for saying this... but i also wanted to sell my car last month... the handling on it was pants, and often made me angry at myself. i went to see the doc, and with deep investigation, the problem has been resolved...

go and see dr bones, and i'm sure by the end of it all, you will be glad you haven't sold out....

deep investigation.... That sounds expensive!! Tony wasnt sure about exact price but he mentioned around the £70 mark. Gladly pay that if it sorts me baby out!

  5. Hi Guys Hope you are all well.

quick summary car is handling :tsktsk: awful! Has been for quite a while but now is unbearable! Had a geometry test done At A LEXUS DEALER early last year, just found the wheels inmotion web site and e mailed my report across to them for there comments as I was not happy with the cars handling!!!

    there comments:

As per usual that report was ****!

front: it has LH WHEEL and RH WHEEL

M.V (measured values) and AV ( actual values)

    camber lh av @ -22'

    rh av @ -0.02'

the position should be -30' on both wheels.

    castor lh av @ +5Deg44'

    rh av @ + 6Deg28'

If the rh camber was dropped to match the lh then the castor also would have

    matched...

    Proof is....

    kind-pin... lh 9Deg52

    rh 8Deg12

If the rh camber was again lowered then the kp would become higher as a

    figure

The rear shows similar neglect in the camber positions....

Sorry mate if this is the geometry you have been driving on the no wonder

    she handles 'pants' now

Every IS's geometry will 'go off' in time.... the problems become really bad

if this 'off' is out of balance...

    yours is!

Any thought on what I should do about this as these tests are not cheap... Who do we trust guys who do Geometry test day in day out for a living or our TRUSTED LEXUS DEALERS?

    cheers :excl::excl::excl:

  6. Hi guys

Just after a few thoughts from you. I have read loads of links on tyres but still cant make my mind up on what to get? Links vary from Toys's being fantastic - Toyo's worst tyres ever?

My Is is totally standard so I dont need anything too fancy. Running Dunlop Sp9000's now but only because they were on the car!

    cheers

    :duh:

  7. Hi guys just need your feedback on this price for these tyres.

Toyo Proxes T1 R's £89.95 fully fitted and balanced

Does this sound about right? I have read many links about these tyres and you all say they are pretty good but nothing much mentioned about the cost?

    cheers

    col.

  8. £300 is still expensive.

I paid about £180 for mine in Lexus Stockport!

In fact I've never paid more than that for the major service, even the minor servicing is about £120 !!!

The only biggie is the 60k which I've been quoted about £500.

You could save a load of cash and book it into Stockport, nice drive over Woodhead as well, even with the cost of petrol your still quids in!

Ask them to fax you over an itiniary - are they changing the aircon filter? They usually do on a major service and I think they charge about £50 for this alone! If you do have Gold, have a look at the discount we get on Puravent filters, pay about £20 if I remember - I have one and they're great.

Not sure how you got this price mate I phone Stockport for a price for 40k service and they quoted me nearly £400

  9. Hi guys alots happend since my original post! Car went in for service no probs they still say gears are ok they changed the gearbox oil and they say it has sorted the problem out but it is still there! They did say any problems bring it in and they will strip it down taking a few days so back to NOTTINGHAM we go! Will keep you all informed.
