  1. Difficult to tell. Initially it will be hard to get hold of a 400h so their prices may even go above retail. In the longer term if the mpg is a good as is suggested the 400h will probably be the model of choice however as it will be more expensive the 300s will look a good deal and therefore the prices shouldn't be affected too much.

If the 400h takes some of the diesel market then the RX profile will be raised even more so that should have a positive impact on resale values of the whole range.

Is the RX400 not a 4.0 litre engine. So how will the fuel consumption be better than a 3.00 litre. I am intending to order a Harrier with a 2.4l engine but this is mainly for consumption issues if there will not be major fuel consumption difference then I would like to consider on the RX400h.

Any advise, in terms of running costs of the RX400?

  2. Is that price before shipping, import tax, VAT, work to pass the ESVA test etc?

That price is from FOB Factory you have to add

    Freight

    Insurance

    SVA test

    MOT

    Registration

Am dealing through a major Toyota client.

  3. Whilst his may look like a good deal you must account for the extra depreciation of an import, the extra insurance costs and for the number of years you will be driving what is probably an inferior product compared to the UK version. The cost is  £5k off the real thing but only you can decide if the extra cost are justified. If the choice is to buy the 240 or nothing then get it and enjoy the experience.

    Thanks

direct import for Japan seems the only way I can afford this beautiful vehicle new. Can anyone recommend an exporter who you have dealt with that is honourable and established as trustworthy,

    (Japan vehicles, batfa, ofuka??)

otherwise its the 2nd hand market for me and its slim pickings in Ireland

I am alsothinking of importing a Harrier 2.4 from Factory in Japan. If you are interested we could do this together. Wha tis the price you have been offered. Arranging the freight back to the UK is not a problem as I used to work for a freight forwarding company and can put us in touch with a large reliable shipping agent, whoc handle delivery right up to UK Port.

  4. Hi

Can anyone explain the mechanical differences between a new 2005 UK rx300 and the 2005 toyota 2.4 Harrier version from Japan.

The smaller engine is attractive to me as insurance prices in ireland are so high for young men here!!

My local Lexus dealer will service a toyota model but he was unsure about availability of parts etc.

    Thanks

    Ronan

I am also intending importing a brand new harrier from Japan as the 2.4 engine 2WD appeals to me. And I have bee nquoted a very good price (US$30100 = £16000 for brand new ex Factory)

I have the specs of the 2005 Harrier with me and one may email it to me directly of I can post it here if anyone would like to see it (email me at yza82(at)ukgateway.net

  5. Have just discovered that the car a considerable amount of swirl type marks or rather light scratches, and has had the rear Bumper replaced. Are "Denso" Parking Sensors Standard on these cars or are they aftermarket?

Also can someone tell me which Insurance group in the RX300 in? and perhaps wha tthe average insurance is being paid?

The car is being offered at 14500.00 to me.

How much would you value this in a private sale? I am told it is due for its 40000mile service?    I would like you genuine guidance on waht sort of price to pay for a car like this.

    Thanks for advise.

How much would you value this in a private sale? I am told it is due for its 40000mile service? What are the average service costs? I would like you genuine guidance on waht sort of price to pay for a car like this. It is in A Black colour. Has only been owned by previousl owner who actually purchased it but finds city centre parking somewhat difficult? Is this something I need to sorry about?

    Thanks fo advise.
