  1. Hi all,

By *** its been a long time since ive posted here.

I installed the 2003 digital cluster to my 2001 altezza. had issues in wiring the cluster lights.

    It looks savage though.

I have a video of car doing 0-160kmph on the cluster. Looks very nice.

Car is sold since last year. Really miss it.

  2. I'd imagine the wiring points to be slightly different, they vary on age of car aswell.

Might be best to PM Monster Mat

You not sold your car then?

I have a few interested parties but im in no rush either in selling it.

I will pm mat and see.

    Might mail him too.

    Sean

You get your car sorted yet?.

  3. Hi all,

I am just wondering how much an ignition barrel for an altezza is as a friend of mine has just imported one and the ignition barrel is faulty.

Also are these the same as the is200 as toyots main dealers say different.

  4. Ian,

Any car you want looked at in Ireland just let me know and i can have a look at it and take the bones of 100+ pictures for you and send them on. The best thing about importing from Ireland is that it only costs £20 to fly over and have a look from UK. If theres a car you like a deposit would do and you could send pictures and documents to the esva office to see what the story is..

  5. Could you import another wife??..

You might have SVA trouble there too!!!... Ha!!!..

Tough choice mate!!... Come over to Ireland and you could choose from many altezzas. Most of them are standard and you SHOULD have no hassle in getting them registered in England...

  6. Robin,

I got the white fogs that cast a white light. It took Koji in Japanparts about 2 weeks to get light delivered after receipt of payment. They accept paypal too. The email address is koji@japanvehicles.com and i looked for part number 041-002-500(left hand side).

He usually returns a mail the following day.

  7. Robin,

Koji in Japanparts sold me a single one at no where near the price for half of a double set.... If you contact him he should be able to help you.

  8. Im selling the car because they are getting VERY popular here in Limerick. 1998's. And I have my eyes on a bigger Engined 300bhp+ car. I am in 2 minds though.

I agree with getting the car repaired and then selling it but if it cant be repaired then i am going to have to go the new bumper route. I have contacted the Gardai and they are looking into it. I actually saw him driving away without even looking at the damage. Maybe he didnt realise it. As long as the cars repaired i dont mind.

  9. For SURE he is paying for it. I looked out the office window this morning and he is still parked there. So i am going to ring the gargai again today and see what the story is. A mate of mine is running a search on the number plate. Hopefully he will be insured and have it sorted as the car WAS supposed to go into the autotrader next week.

Ah sure another 2 weeks or more wouldnt be bad.

  10. Hi all,

I got a call of a colleague today stating that some idiot had reversed into the front of my car and PUNCTURED the front of my bumper with his towing eye!!.. I have contacted the gardai and they have taken a statement. I also have a witness and a car reg number(I saw him driving away). The problem is the driver was a non national and i am hoping that he was insured.

I am just posting to see what the cost of the bumper new is!!!..

    Sean.

  11. I called her there before lunch telling her the story and she went to get a refund of the money she spent on the advertisement. The lady on the line said that she had given her details to an interested party and they would be wanting to view the car. Is this a legit scam?. Or can the money be reembursed? The fiance let fly at them anyways.

Ah sure we will learn from the experience.

    Sean

There should be a list of these scam artists.....

  12. Thanks for the replies lads.

I think that she has organised for someone to come and have a look at the car tonight.

If it sells tonight i will let ye know. I dont mind the money it costs for the advertising of the car because it if sells for more than what shes looking for the car, it will cover the ad.

    Many thanks

    Sean

  13. Hi all,

My fiance is in the process of selling her fiat punto sporting in Ireland and has been approached by the above company vehiclematch.org stating that they will sell her car for her. And that they have a few interested parties.

I am just wondering if anyone has heard of the company and/or if they are any good.

  14. Merlin,

You'd have to take an altezza out for a spin as driving an is200 is no where near to the drive an altezza can give. Unless you take a s/c is200 out for a spin. The altezza is just as quick as it. In relation to not going for a turbo'd altezza. I would go for one as, even though the altezza is quick you still WANT more power and you will still end up spending a fortune on a s/c or turbo onto your newer car.

    Thats my idea ayways.

    Sean :D

I totally agree but I don’t want to ***** some one off by taking their RS out for a spin when really not considering buying it !!!

    don’t mind annoying a garage though !!! :D :D

power wise I think I can cope with the power difference when on a test drive !

just need to make sure I like the ride, seating position, generally the feel of the car !!

I will have to bearing mind the RS suspension is slightly stiffer but is a bench mark to compare to !!

Don’t tempt me with more power !!! I know Im goanna want more power !!!

i know it wont be a quick as my 200 but i think i can live with that (for a while)

But I do intend keeping the car for a round 5 years and will have plenty of time to add bits

But at the moment im trying to avoid the forced induction route .

I think that a few lads on the board wouldnt mind you taking their car out for a spin to see what the ride is like. If you want to you could come over to Limerick Ireland and you can take mine for a spin. Any way of gettign a new altezza owner. I myself would go for the turbo'd altezza.

  16. as i said a few posts up, Ian F has a manual altezza, maybe speak to him, i know of a white one in Ireland for sale, white is definatly the best colour, only the really cool peeps have white ones

    For real Mate,

White is the best colour. Mines is for sale at the moment. But i think myself that i will get more money here in Ireland for it. You'd be wasting alot of sterling buying a car here after getting vrt'd. Im looking to purchase either an evolution 7 or 8 in white. Either in England or Ireland.

Welcome to the club mate and hope you find what you are looking for.

    Sean
