  1. :D

We had a convoy of 13 people to Le Mans.

    6 cars,

    in order

    my Rx-8 231

    Z4 2.5

    Nissan 350Z

    M Coupe (m version of Z3)

    Porsche GT3

    Lamborghini Gallardo

What a weekend. I was the slowest. Trying to follow a GT3 and Gallardo through the back roads of france was NUTS. But enjoyable. :driving:

Three cars got stopped into le mans . pay up €750 per car or have it impounded.

Not us though. We , mr rx8 and the gt3 and gallardo were spanking through the back roads cause we got lost following the sat nav. A roads at lightspeed. what a blast.

Then we set up camp. drank beers for about 2 nights. watched some kind of race (only joking the Spiker C8 and Corvette] sounded like the Star wars pod racers). Awesome. And the Aston Martins . woweee.

Then drove home past about 500 gendarmes on Subday.

    What a weekend.

The rx8 beeps everyyime you hit 9000 rpm. It was sounding like R2D2 towards the end. :D

I've got pics of the convoy if anyone wants to se em.

  2. Fo***k,  I just noticed that civic  That photo wasn't posted earlier was it?

Is that the guy who owns it in the shell suit?

Man that is so horrible, and the colour ,Aaaarrrgggghhhh!.

Those arches and wheels suit more of a beach buggy. Not something that epitomises the best of the best (so good it's become a de-jure and de-facto standard for something pertaining to the best quality). Not a max power wet dream.

I hear what you're saying there Jaylist but as an advert you have to say it has impact, if lacking a bit of subtlety. I think the colour is beautiful. That guy with the horrible civic must have felt really cool with the Lexus and Rolls-Royce sitting near his abomination.

True , it is a vivid advert. That civic reminds me of some chaved out cars in Maidenhead. There's some truly awful bodykits around here now. Real carbage.

Must take some pics sometime.

  3. I found this on another site.

You'll have to do a search on google. Type in Failure and see who's the top of the list :P

    Link to google

Something dodgy going on there, it's not in his meta tags. My guess is an employee in google has been fixing this result.

the failure.org website looked interesting (although I daren't click on it)

Hey whether you like it or not, it's hard to call the most powerful man in the world a failure.

  4. Sorry, I hate the roller. Those arches just ruin the clean lines of the Rolls Royce. It's like guilding the lilly in burberry!

  5. Well i had enough of cars, i need something that i can take my family and friends out in, need alots of boots space for when i going to the DIY place, so i thinking of changing my B*W ( still keeping my IS for now, hehe  :D  :D  :D ) to a MPV sometime this year, but which? anyone of you had driven 1, Ford Galaxy and Vauxhall Zafira look pretty good, any other?? atm the most important is boots space, and carrying alots of passager (7 seats etc, etc.), any informations will be very grateful guys.... :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

As Jeremy Clarkson says, anyone who buys a Zafira might as well put there hand up and say there tired of life!

Except the turbo. Put an imrscher bodykit on that and they look very nice!

Forget the galaxy, piece of sh*t.

Seat Alhambra is a good mpv. Voyager is ok, but some dodgy reliability.

Previa is the muts nuts. Well built and drives well. Although I've driven the new scenic 1.9 dci. We drove a couple of thousand miles accross catalonia, with five of us including one baby. I've never had such a relaxed driver. Great engine and handling for an mpv.

The best mpv is the seven seater e class merc. Handels well, fully loaded and drives forever. More space than almost any mpv!

    Failing that you have this,

    renaultespacef1.jpg

uilt around the Espace’s steel frame and retaining the vehicle’s looks with lightweight carbon fibre panels, underneath it was fitted with the same active rear suspension and 3.5-litre, 800bhp Renault V10 engine that Williams had used to win its F1 titles in 1992 and 1993. The ‘Espace’, designed by long-time Renault partner Matra, had a top speed of 194mph and could reach 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds.

  6. I have a 3 year old Tosh laptop running Win XP and get the following error message when booting:

    ****Bad check sum (CMOS)****

Check system then press F1 key

When I press F1 it goes into some sort of setup/options page, I press escape to get out and then the machine goes into a check disc mode before booting up normally.

    Any ideas?

If it was a normal pc i would reccomend to change the Battery, but that will cost quite abit with a laptop.

You can always try rebooting the firmware. IF you look on the website of you machine you should see some download files for firmware. Just follow the instructions to flash your firmware.

  7. This country is totalled screwed  :offtopic:  thanks to idiots in politics who come up with these means tested rubbish. What incentive do both of these twits have to go looking for work, when we pay for them anyway ???

Yeah I can believe it. There was sign of the times in the tg'raph a couple of months ago, when a woman working in a welsh employment agency jacked in her job to claim more money in benefit!

If you are single mother you go to the top of the queue to get a house, the more kids the more priority and benefit you get.

How can they responsibly bring up the children? More often than not they can't. So you get more broken homes, disrupted children , more crime and more teenage pregnancies.

Also with the pensions means test credit, the mother with three kids and no savings will get more pension that the couple who have saved. It actually pays not to save under the current pensions system introduced by Gordon Brown.

    -----------------------

My method is simple. Eveyone gets free childcare/nursery vouchers. You don't get child benefits though.

So you have to work , and we give you the ability to work as the kids will be in a safe structured learning environment.

Also I would ensure that the first 12k you earned was tax free (by shuffling the bands around) . This ensures that those on the lowest incomes get the full amount of money, and not as the current case is that when a person works more than 15 hours a week at the minimum wage they get taxed.

  8. You are not alone in this post soviet welfare mis-state.

Tax credits scandal reveals Labour incompetence on a grand scale

Shadow Chancellor George Osborne has blamed Gordon Brown after figures showed that almost £2 billion of public money has been wrongly paid out under his complicated tax credit schemes.

Official statistics reveal that of the £13.5 billion distributed in child and working tax credits last year, £1.9 billion included overpayments which benefited 1.9 million claimants. Some 40,000 people received at least £5,000 more than they should have, while over 700,000 were underpaid a total of £464,000.

As the Government sought to blame the mess on unemployed people getting jobs, and computer problems, Mr Osborne said responsibility should be shouldered by Mr Brown.

The Conservative Shadow Chancellor declared: "This is Government incompetence on a grand scale. It is scandalous that a system meant to help people is causing so many problems. Many families will find it extremely hard to repay money sent to them in error."

Mr Osborne told conservatives.com: "Once again, Gordon Brown's obsessions with fiddling and complexity have backfired."

  9. Ah, you had the temeritty to get married. The Labour government frowns on those who get married, better to have child as a single parent.

    --------------

The bias in the tax and benefit system in favour of lone-parent families is such that some married parents end up having to work much harder than lone parents. The working families tax credit (WFTC), which replaced family credit in 1999, has made it possible for a lone mother caring for one small child to rise above the poverty line by working 16 hours per week at the minimum wage. This is certainly good for the mother and her child. But the same tax and benefit system requires a married mother and father caring for one small child to work no fewer than 60 hours between them at the minimum wage in order to enjoy a similar standard of living. This bias should be of concern to people who want to support all families living in poverty, and to all those uneasy about the recent trend away from marriage as the basis of family life.

    -----------------------------

The Labour govermnet is essentially a tax and spend punitive administration.

The credits system is the most pernicious sort of welfare this country has ever seen. It is meant to help those on the lower income brackets, yet because it is a complex means test asks you to submit pagees and pages of complex personal data . This is then re-calculated every time your income changes. Hence it costs more to administer than any other form of welfare. And it is regressive. Those on the lowest incomes don't neccesarily benefit the most, it is those on the higher end of the lower income brackets that gain the most.

And as you found out it is so complex that often it paid to little or to much, and ask you to re-pay it , even when your circumstances have deteriorated.

The simple and far more cost effective solution is to reduce the tax burden at the lower end, by raising the tax free income to a higher rate.

This requires much less adminstration and benefits those people on the lower scales more.

    New Labour Stupidity.

    Vote Conservative!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

Gordon Brown has created a tax credit and benefits system which is so complicated that it seems "alien" and "capricious" to its users, according to the Government's most senior adviser on welfare.

In the foreword to his final report, Sir Thomas Boyd-Carpenter, the outgoing chairman of the Social Security Advisory Committee, says that there is an "urgent need" for the welfare system to be simplified, even if that means some people losing out.

"Complexity... character-ises the entire benefits system, and the addition of tax credits, with different rules, merely makes the whole structure more opaque to its customers," he writes.

"There is an urgent need to accept the costs - and the occasional hard cases - that a radical simplification programme would require. The benefit would be a system comprehensible to its customers and manageable by its staff."

Sir Thomas has been chairman of the committee for nine years, overseeing both Labour and Conservative ministers.

In his final report, he gives a devastating indictment of Mr Brown's decision to turn many benefits into tax credits, administered by the Inland Revenue rather than the Department for Work and Pensions.

"The size, complexity and dispersion of the benefits system, and the blurring of the boundaries has led to a pervading sense of a loss of cohesion," he writes.

"The result is a system whose complexity risks appearing both alien and capricious to its customers."
