  1. Im a little confused now.

Lifelong wanted something like £830 for the rear section. Front section need to check the car before quoting.
Lexus wanted about £600 for rear and over £1000 for front. Plus tips, some joints and rubber etc, almost £2000.

    Waiting on TonyBanks.

Thought it was going to be straightforward. I think i need to take to another garage to see what really is needed.

  2. Thanks all,

Im after oem if poss but over a grand seems a bit much, maybe next best option is a custom one then to be close to stock as poss.

Will try longlife and call birmingham i think

Im worried if i get some aftermarket one from eBay, i wont know the quality and the sound.

    Thank you

Ps. by the way where does everyone get their parts from? I would ideally want oem but happy to go something aftermarket but guaranteed quality. Someone who makes parts close to stock but lower prices.  I know a lot of other car brands have such parts but nothing for lexus gs? As i am also looking for a passenger side headlight unit but cannot find anything except from dealer

  3. Hi,

Im looking for a passenger side 2005 GS300 Headlight.

Everything is working but is leaking water in and after new seals etc it is still leaking, so want to just replace the housing kit?

    Thanks

  4. All Bluetooth phones should do this?

Ive tried a fair few now and still only the k700 does it!

im pretty sure it isnt time dependant as u said not straight away as by the time i get to work, it still doesnt connect!

however the majority of the phones i have tried are old and new sonys and the not so new nokias plus a few others, which seems to be not the ones u guys are using which does it!!

  5. Maybe i didnt describe it clearly? or i misunderstood what u were saying?

The phone connects to the Bluetooth fine when i get in it. but when i leave the car with phone in pocket and teh engine still running it wont connect back

(eg. i start car up in morning, my phone in my pocket, the phone connects to the car. i decide to run back into house to go to toilet (leaves the engine running), the distance too far from car so it disconnects, after the toilet, i go back into car, it wont automatically connect itself, the only way is to turn engine off then on again).

the only phone that can auto connect itself again is the k700. does anyone know which phone can reconnect itself like this?

    thanks

Tango - u said when ur phones connect when in range, do u mean reconnecting like the eg i just gave? or do u mean the first time when u start engine?

Steve - when u initially start the engine, like u said it takes about 20secs to connect however with the k700 where it is already connected and i leave the car with engine running and i return, as soon as i approach teh car, maybe by the door about to open it, it already connects itself, (very rapid), i want to find another phone that can do this

  6. Hey guys,

I have a gs300 sel and although the Bluetooth works well, i ahve only found one phone where once the phone is connected (engine or electrics still on), if u move away from the car far enough for teh phone to disconnect itself, then when u walk back to teh car it will connect itself again, the only phone that does this i ahve found so far is the SEk700 and i ahve tried old and new phones different makes and this is the only phone that can do this.

Does anyone at all know what other phones can do this? as the k700 is getting a bit old now, i tried many others but they jsut wont connect back. the only way for it to connect again is if i turn the engine off then on again.

    Can anyone help?

    Much appreciated.

  7. Hi guys,

I didnt get it int he end so i ahve no idea how it compares but it seems fine, car stays fairly clean and i often take it to tescos for a clean and polish both in and out when i do some shopping anyways. the cars quite big and bulky and cant be bothered to clean it myself so thats my excuse! no major swirls or anything really compared to a friends x5 also silver and and about the same age. so not bad really, not sure how he washes his but still farily happy!

however the wheels get dirty quite easily with the brake dust. oh and the exhaust tips get quite a bit skanky if u dont clean them properly regularly

  8. Cheers James for that link, very useful,

I was just trying to get a feel of what ppl here use that they think may be of help.

The car is so quiet yet the tyres really do ruin it. must be a design fault??

Surely whatever tyre i get, it wont elimate it but i just want to minimise it as much as possible.

    Thanks

ps, if an new gs owners have changed tyres and noticed any +ve/-ve please share!

  9. Hi there,
