  1. Hi Guys Thank you all for the constructive input. Much appreciated. Solved the problem (for me at least). Bought an SUV !!. Not an NX I might add. Very sad to part with the IS250. A super car. Never missed a beat & that V6 can make it move. Wonder if the new 2L turbo charged petrol engine will be a match. Take Care Yamavira.
  2. Hi still no reply from anyone having actual experience of running on 225s all round. Have been in touch with Michelin re their "Cross Climate" tyre. THEY say it is a summer tyre with "winter capability" compatible with any summer OR winter tyre. Of course it is not man. in 245 which would simplify everything. Yamavira.
  3. We are all very much aware that come the inclement weather of "winter" the IS250 auto is hopeless !!. Have decided to try some All Weather Tyres hoping to at least keep moving throughout the so called winter months. Currently looking at the Michelin Cross Climate tyre. Pirelli Cinturato All Season These tyres come in 225 /17 but not in 245 /17. Loading is 94 whereas the 245 loading is 95. Has anyone run their IS250 petrol auto on 225s all round ????. If yes what differences were noted in the car's handling. Note. I have passed the "boy racer" years so not too concerned on ultimate grip on the edge in a corner. Thanks Yamavira
  4. Last service indicated new pads needed next time. car will have covered around 65K. Will discs need replacing at the same time ???. Looking at PAGID pads & discs. Would welcome any comments. In the past used to get 2 sets of pads then the discs, but things have changed since then. Thanks Yamavira.
  5. Hi Put Hankook V12 Evo K110 on my 08 IS250 after having Dunlop Sport maxx. They have lasted around 10K LESS miles than the original Dunlop Sport Maxx. Sport Maxx 31308 Front / 32520 Rear. Hankook Front. So far 23277 / Rear changed at 22065 (down to 2mm in centre of tread. 3.5mm on outer). Hankook quiet running & okay in wet but totally useless in any kind of winter weather. They cost me £127.50 a corner balanced & fitted. Reckon worth paying to £150 or so for a Dunlop. Al.
  6. Hi. Wheels look good. Wish there was a cover available for the locking wheel nut. Spoils the overall effect of any good looking set of rims. Thanks for the pic. Yamavira
  7. IS250. 60K coming up & the second set of alloys are beginning to blister in spots. Have decided to get them refurbished & coloured a Metallic Gunmetal Grey. Car colour is metallic Cardoxton Slate. Wonder if anyone has gone for metallic grey wheels. If so could they post some pics please. Cheers Yamavira
  8. Hi ChumpusRex Do you have the Ebay item # for the Birmingham Lexus spark plugs please. That is a very good price. Thanks regards yamavira
  9. Much appreciate your assistance. Want OEM plugs which is why asked the forum Cheers yamavira :)
  10. Does anyone have the part # for the spark plugs fitted by Lexus in the 2008 model 250IS auto. I believe they are DENSO plugs but unable to get this confirmed. Online website has plugs advertised as suitable but will not confirm they are the same as fitted by Lexus. Would welcome input Thanks yamavira.
  11. Hi Anyone have a suggestion as to which make of spark plug is best to use when renewing plugs for the first time (60K as per |Lexus). Who is the supplier. Cheers Yamavira.
  12. Diagnostics indicated Lamda sensor. Cost of the sensor on the web £93.75+vat (exactly the same sensor.Same men. etc.). Cost to you when being fitted £159.85 PLUS vat. and it is a Toyota part number of course. Not a bad mark up !!!.
  13. 08 250IS auto. Set off from set of traffic light as normal. Main warning light came on (no sound), message in top window "Check VSC". Also illuminated, in lhs of panel the Little engine symbol (Indicates TRC/VSC fault) illuminated & in the RHS panel "Slip indicator" light is illuminated. Would welcome any thoughts, comments as likely or probable problem. Cheers Yamavira.
  14. Lexus are not the only man. to be ignoring the problems associated with DPFs blocking up & not regenerating. Had same problem on an 07 sportage. Cost of DPF from main dealer £2366+vat+£160+vat for fitting !!!!!!!!!!!. Several companies on the web can supply a DPF at less than £1K. Alternative. If vehicle out of any warranty have the DPF core removed & the ECU remapped. Ensure everything remotely connected to the DPF such as regeneration cycle is deleted. Will be surprised at the difference. Much better throttle response & improved mpg. The core contains precious metals. Worth money. Ask for it to be returned !!!. Take it to a scrap metal dealer & offset the remap cost. Note. Ensure that externally everything looks as it should with sensors still in place etc otherwise it WILL FAIL the mot as equipment considered non standard
  15. At what mileage would one expect to change the plugs in an IS 250. What is entailed in a 40K servicing that warrants a cost of almost £400 !!!!!!!!!!! from a main dealer. Yamavira.
