  1. Happy Birthday macky68!

  2. Hi Pete I think that story is true, many years a go a friend of mine had a mk1 golf , she used to have to drop the window an inch to close the door!
  3. Hi Chris Fitted the new seal yesterday , only took a few minutes , most time spent cleaning the lip to take the new seal. We had some heavy showers during the night & its as dry as a bone this morning, So a cheap easy fix! You have to be a bit more forceful closing the boot lid , but I'm sure this will soon settle down. Regards Adam
  4. Ok , took the plunge & purchased this Mk4 today - Very pleased with how it looks & drives , but it does have a couple of niggles I would like to sort out. 1, the washer empty warning light is on (I did know about this) 2, the outside temp display reads 35 degrees permanently (Air con works perfect) 3 , the sat nag is so out of date Im sure I came home via Ermine Street! Are these easy to solve problems? Regards All Adam PS is it possible to buy just the steel Y piece exhaust for my 96 mk3 LS (John Prescott eat your heart out!)
  5. Thanks for the help guys! Just got to decide if its worth what he is asking , and if its worth changing my middle name to Gerald!
  6. Hi Chris Have just purchased a new seal for my 96 ls with an interesting water feature in the boot! Will let you know if it solves the problem. Regards Adam
  7. Good morning everyone . Have decided to upgrade my mk3 to a mk4 , saw this burgundy mk4 on ebay with 114k on the clock , I have already Hpi checked it & it comes up clear , my only concern is that the seller states "he spent a long time looking for a nice example" however it appears he only owned it two weeks before deciding to sell it. Is anyone familiar with this car? Has had the registration numbers L400JHJ & S309SUX Regards Adam
  8. Hi all I have been the proud owner of a 96 ls400 for nearly 4 years . I paid £1100 & all I have spent out Is 4 new tyres 2 bonnet struts & a new battery . I don't do many miles a year (it had 108,000 on the clock when I purchased & now has 124,000 on the clock) I have done routine maintenance myself . Do I need to change the cambelt? The service history gives a change at 59,000 miles. If so how difficult is it ? Should I ask a main dealer to carry out the work? If so , how much is it likely to cost? I have owned many cars over the years but none comes even close to my Lexus
