  1. Hi Jonathan I have both and enjoy both. They are very different but great. The LS is the best car ever made. Mine has not given me one problem over the last six years with everything still working. It is a much softer and comfortable ride. The seats are higher so easier to get in and out. The sc is sporty and turn heads. I believe they complement each other. Between my wife and myself we swop cars for different purposes. On a sunny day with the roof down the sc comes to life. Wessel
  2. Thanks. I probably never use close to the maximum power and that is why I do not notice. This should not be a problem for somebody who wants to use the maximum power as you just switch to petrol when you need it. When you cruise, switch to gas and save 40%!
  3. As I am new to the SC430 I am not sure about many things. How sure are you that there is a 15% reduction in power using Lpg?. I definitely do not feel it when I turn it on and off.
  4. Hi Janet Thanks for your response. Does not look like anybody else can help either. Did I maybe ask for help to quickly or break the rules somewhere?
  5. I had my SC430 converted but realised most SC owners would be horrified as it might look like you are defeating the object. I would support this sentiment if I could afford it. This is a great compromise though if you cannot afford the high fuel prices. I am a teacher and should strictly speaking not be able to afford such a great car. I have learned through my LS400 that a Lexus could be one of the cheapest cars to own if you do your homework. These forums are key!!! Ialso had my LS400 converted years back. Not a single problem. No difference in power but get 280 miles on £40. I share the cars with my wife depending on the kind of trip we swop cars. With my SC I get 300miles on £40. I do not miss the boot space as I only put the roof down on short trips. If I do have luggage I do not put my roof down or place it on the back seat. I do not think this will happen a lot and only when I take my wife on a weekend trip. I do not like putting the roof down on a long trip on the motorway anyway. When I have my children with I use the LS400. I now have a luxury car running at the same cost as an 1100cc. The cost of any trip is now 40% cheaper. Sc430 A 70l tank fits in the boot space. I closed this space with original boot cover and if you do not know the car you would not even notice the tank or lack of space. With the roof up you still have a great boot when needed.
  6. Hi everybody. Thanks for all the information over the years. Just bought a 2004 sc430 with 23000 miles on the clock. Still looks and smells brand new. Fantastic car. Bought a 2000 LS400 6 years ago and it has not given me any problems. Still looks and drives like a new car after 14 years and with 110000 miles on the clock. Had to buy a Lexus again. I have a few questions sc430 BATTERY RUNS DOWN VERY QUICKLY I was told that it has a brand new battery. Is it normal that the sound system can run the battery down in a half and hour when the car is not running? When charged it starts normally every day. Left the boot open one evening, next morning it was flat. Is this normal? SOUND SYSTEM The sound of the back speakers change the moment the roof opens or closes, it has a echo sound when the roof is closed and sounds normal when the roof is open. It changes the moment when the roof red flashing light switch stops. Is this normal? RUN FLAT TYRES The car still has it's original run flat tyres with the sensors. I am probably unfairly comparing the ride to my ls400 and find it very bumpy. Would normal tyres make a huge difference if I change it.
