Hi Ive just crossed 100k on my IS200 and need to do a service. lexus cardiff quoted £470 approx - £310 for Cambelt and £160 for service. I dont plan to sell my car anytime soon so i dont really wanna bother with Dealers service as prices are beyond me. Would anyone recommend going to an approved independent garage and where can i buy lexus cambelt parts if i wanted to supply the garage and be charged for only labour. thanks in advance

I was parked up about an hour today with all my lights on listening to the radio without th engine on. after 1 hr the IS200 wouldnt start. the battery had died. so i waited for my mate to come and jump start me. he was gonna be an hour. i waited bout 15mins and then thought id try to start the car again and guess what it almost started. 5 mins later it was fine. SO STRANGE....does anyone know if the IS has some sort of self charging facility? what happened to my car??

Hi Lexus Experts Im desperately in need of your advice. I need to carry out a 90K service on my Is200 sport but I missed the 80K so im planning to do them both together. Im not going to the Lexus garage simply because wen i bought the car it didnt have full dealers service history but im gonna go to a well reputed local garage. So if any one can pop over to me a comprehensive list of all the things they cover on 80K and 90 K i would be well appreciative Thanks

I need to replace my brake discs (both front and rear). Anyone recommend me a set thats relatively affordble and good quality. How about Prolex ones??

my car needs a new set of rear brake discs and front brake discs. Rather than taking it to Lexus Cardiff, I'm thinking of taking it to Toyota in my town. However, I'm wondering whether it may be better for me to buy discs from Prolex and then have those fitted and the advantages in doing so. please advise.

Hi LOC i'm thinkin' of modding my car and adding in a rear sports bumper, a front sports bumper and side skirts. But I dont wanna go over the top so I want my mods too be a little bit subtle. My car is an astral black sport (IS200) and i'm also thinkin to replace the existing spoiler to an M3 style spoiler (just like yours Kazdul). Could members give me some hints and tips and possible link to pictures. BTY budget is not infinite!!!!!

no...its due for 80k

recently i noticed that i hav to floor the gas to bring up the revs on normal roads. could this be because my engine needs tuning?? if so how much would Lexus charge roughly?? thanks for any replies.

i get the same prob mate. The annoying thing is that it slows the driving down and is a nuisance having to go through neutral first. Worse still is when the weather aint too warm. what kind of miles has your car done???

I'm thinking of installing some headrest tv screens in my IS. any one know any good dealers who sell and install for cheap in south wales. Also, is it a messy job cutting into the headrest

my IS200 sport engine roars a little bit when i drive from 1st to 2nd gear. Is this perhaps due to a need for engine tuning. If so, how much do Lexus charge to do this (roughly)

Got a bit of a thing to discuss. My gear box seems looser than what I expect it to feel like. could this be cos the gearbox is wearing out and about to go or is teh IS generally just like that.

Does anyone know if Lexus Cardiff recognise the discounts available to gold members. If I subscribed to GOLD would they give me a discount?? On that note, would PROLEX also give me a discount??

Need to change my rear brake discs cos of all the grooves. Lexus quoted me £290 odd but I have friend who works in Toyota said he could giv me a big discount. Any suggestions of the best typr of rear discs to buy cos Im thinkin i'll jus buy the discs and giv it to him to fit. He'll only charge me for labour...... or do u suggest I jus go straight to LEXUS
