  1. Hi All,

Just a thought - When I changed the transmission fluid on my old GS, pouring the fresh fluid in stirred up the sedement in the sump which then blocked up the filter / pickup pipe and caused very very bad gear changes (sometimes it just stayed in first!!)

Had to remove the sump, clean it out and wash out the filter, I then changed the fluid a couple more times after this. This rectified my problem.

  2. Im good, i'm still here.....sorry i've not been on for a while! The Lex has been in the garage having a new timing belt and water pump fitted as a service requirement.

Thanks for all the great comments guys! Its really appreciated.

I have not personally measured the offset of these wheels. I have only looked it up on search engines and eventually came to the conclusion that the offset was correct.

The RX wheels definately have the wrong offset....I think Lexus have kept the offset of all the other wheels pretty much the same.

I'll see if I can find a link later on tonight as i'm quickly typing this in my lunch break!

    Cheers guys

  3. I am looking for some new alloy wheels to tidy up my LS. I've spoken to Rochford tyres this afternoon who have advised me that many wheels do not fit this model of car due to the large brake calipers, even though the offset is 50??

Anyway....I am looking at a set of IS250 alloys on eBay and I was wondering if anybody could confirm if these will fit an LS400 and clear the brake calipers?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob.

  4. i think it is just the needles that are exspensive to replace ,

The dash cluster is fairly easy to remove.

There are three typs of bulb.

The main bulbs that illuminate the the numbers and behind the fuel/temp gauge etc are a long life 14v bulb available from lexus only.

The small warning lights (i.e handbrake on light )are a standard bulb you can get from Halfords.

The bulbs for the PRD2L display in the middle are different again (cant remember what they).

Message me if you want instructions on how to remove the cluster (i've done it 4 times already)

TIP: Change all the bulbs at once (I changed one, put it back and two more blew right after) it'll save you time in the long run!!
