Thanks for the reply, but thats a little too much information for me. I can barely work my computer enough to get the diagrams focused right , but thanks again
I just changed my wifes spark plugs on her ford explorer, I am mechanically inclined and do minor repairs, but I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on that tricky spark plug changing on my 2000 gs300. Oh, and I almost forgot about the special plug that is burried next to the exhast, whats that all about, how did u do it.
You don't say if the whine increases with the wheels or the heater fan, but I had a fan problem like this some years ago on a Ford Granada.
It turned out to be a dead leaf stem that had found it's way into the heater. A right swine it was to remove too
Just a thought

Thanks for getting back at me. The noise increases as I turn the heat up higher, on low temp the noise is barely noticeable . The speed of my car makes no difference to the problem , but thanks again for responding Ian B
I JUST HAD THE SAME PROBLEM U ARE DESCRIBING , IT WAS MY RIGHT SIDE LOWER TIRE ROD END , A GUY DID IT FOR ME FOR $40 DOLLARS , TOYOTA ESTIMATED ME FOR $478 , NEVER MIND LEXUS, SHOP AROUND, GOOD LUCK!!!
I TURNED MY HEAT ON IN MY CAR ( 2000 GS300) THIS AFTERNOON AFTER PUTTING MY NEW RIMS ON, AND NOW I'M HEARING THIS LOUD WHINING NOISE OUT MY HEATER VENTS, i WAS WONDERING WAS THIS SOMETHING THAT MAYBE VERY COSTLY, OR MAYBE SDOMETHING I COULD FIX MYSELF
