Hi, assuming it is the CD version then the sat nav drive is the one in the boot under the carpet, RHS as looking from the back of the car. It is simple to change I think 3 screws and some plugs.
-
Yes, simply changed the CD drive unit from a written off IS200, all plugs are the same, very quick job even the jap remote has colour coded buttons so no need to learn Japanese.
Have tried eBay no go for disk, will have to go to Lexus.
Thanks.

I,ve just updated my RS200 sat nav from Jap to UK version but the mapping is dated.
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap newish CD rom from ?
-
I'm not sure that it can be done
this type of question comes up quite a lot so have a good hunt through the other forums
but I think it means getting the same head unit again or going aftermarket
Many thanks

Does anyone now how to replace the useless 6 cd changer stereo unit (ERR3 version slot in bottom) with the later 6 CD changer stero unit post 2001 (slot in top) ?? I now the plugs are different but I can not find a wiring diagram. I have a 2000 RS200.
Should be no problem with the mechanics, I have had the unit out and Iam assuming the newer version will mechanically fit, it's the wiring I need help with.
If anyone can help thanks in advance !!!!!!!!

Presumably the disk drive, and monitor will be common.
I'm guessing there is a seperate control module.
Any ideas how much for this new ?? If not I will ask Toyota.

Guys,
Just picked up on this thread.
I have the original sat nav system in my RS200, has anyone looked into what hardware would need to be changed to get it working in the UK ??
TIA.

Just to let you know it turned out to be the rear shocks.
Changed them and quiet as a mouse.
Thanks for the help !!
-
Thanks,
Yes I bought a set of IS200 rear shocks and fitted then yesterday they were an exact match.
They cured the problem at last.
Sqeak free motoring, wonderfull !!

Guys,
I have just found the cause of my rear end squeek it is both rear shocks.
Just before they took me away in a jacket !!
I want to re fit standard shocks to the tezza, can I use standard is200 parts or are the RS200 special ?
Thanks !!

Think the thread was mine on the coilovers.
I traced it to the top mount "creaking" against the car body, it is exactly as you describe, you can get the noise just bouncing the back up and down.
I ended up running some 3 in 1 around the top of the strut, between the strut and body from inside the boot and the noise has now gone. Worth a try I would say.
Many thanks gents, most appreciated.
I don't have coilovers yet.
Mac do you mean the top of the coil/damper mount in the boot. How did you get the oil in there, did you take the mounting nuts off in the boot ?
When you say strut, excuse my ignorance but what exactly do you mean ?

Can anyone help ?
I have a 2000 Altezza RS200 with 28K and am getting a very noticeable squeek/rumble from the back end. It seems worse and more noticeable at slow speeds. If you push the back of the car down sometimes you can recreate it. Have greased and oiled everything which may have lessened it for a while but it comes back with avengence.
I know there was another very similar thread a few months ago but it was a little inconclusive. It may have been the rear spring/damper mounting bush, which I will remove and inspect.
Has anyone had similar experience or got any ideas. Any help very gratefully received !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.

Hi There,
Did you ever really get to the bottom of the rear creaking noise on your IS ?? I have an RS200 with exactly the same issue. I have greased and oiled everything in sight on the rear of the car but no joy.
If I don't stop it soon I will need to fit a more powerfull stereo and crank the volume up !!
Any help greatfully appreciated.

Hi all
I've got a creaking noise coming from the driver's side rear which sounds like the coil spring. The sound is awful from inside the car, I have to turn the radio up to drown the sound!! It gets worse as the journey goes on and is more audible when going very slowly and pumping the brakes hard. Lexus have had a look and said it's just a dry joint which they've lubricated. It was fine for about 5 miles and then it starts again with a vengeance. Any clues what it could be anyone???

Concensus seems to be that you like em :D @ Aido - Is this anything like the badge you saw?
Got one but thought it would not look right on the back, plan to use it on the Sports Grill when I get it.
Hey MAC where did you get the RS200 badge looks the biz ???I got a set of RX 300 badges off eBay used the R from the RX and took the S off the end of the Lexus badge. The 200 is off a set of IS 200 badges again bought off eBay.
That's very cunning, thanks for the reply I will do the same !!

Finally got my hands on some IS200 badges thanks to Terry for the tip off :winky:

You could do and it would work, but it will cost a packet.
See if you can get one from eBay or a second hand one from somewhere may be a scrap dealer.
I got mine second hand for £100
