  1. Anyone?? I was hoping someone may have a faulty unit and they may be able to take a pic of top open to solve the mystery of where these springs attach to.... A car without sounds is just not the same, many thanks.
  2. ah ha, thanks for the photobucket suggestion, here are the links to pics - http://s857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/siman99/?action=view&current=SL381563.jpg http://s857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/siman99/?action=view&current=SL381564.jpg The metal plate seems to go on the top of where the cds usually are and it is secured by 2 springs, i just cant figure out where they were attached to and it doesnt function in its current state, any help pointers much appr. cheers
  3. By the way i have tken some photos of the dismatled unit, how can i link these photos to this topic?
  4. Hi All Sorry for the Generic post but i require some help/advice and hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Unfortuntely I had the dreaded error3 on my cd player the other day. On opening up the unit i discovered a stuck cd which i duely removed however I cant seem to work out how to place the bits back together again! I have a metal plate on the top which appears to be connected by 2 springs holding it in place, I cant work out where these springs would attach to. Is anyone able to offer any help on this?!! Next time i will take a photo before i decide to open anything up!! Hoping someone has a unit that they can open up and maybe post a pic, many thanks in advance!!
  5. true, dont mean too stereo type all of them ....as in anything in life you get the good, the bad and the ugly only going on my own experience so far, would be nice to see some kinda compassion from my persepctive but all i got so far is diddly, not even a follow up call, still waiting for some1 to ring me back from 3 days ago...makes me lose faith in the system
  6. i think its more up to the individual these days to protect your own property as the police dont care much, they seem more interested in clocking up revenue on the road and releasing misleading stats... the innocent motorist actually gets penalised more than the illegal one, makes you wanna cry...
  7. found this article on the web - http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/7242_1301216,00180008.htm
  8. how about a tracker system that actives and electrifies the thief when the car comes to a stop.... that would be worth paying for...
  9. what does the blackjax device do? if the engine is still running at the time of vehicle getting nicked does it still immobilize? considering a gsm tracking device for next car, can any1 recommend any products?
  10. still no news on my car, going through the motions now with insurance... phoned police today and asked if they had any leads but they said an officer hadnt even been allocated to the case!!??? doesnt give you much confidence in their work, i think if my motor turns up now it will be pure luck as much anything... leg on the mend now but still got bruising on my side, it scares me to think what coulda happened...
  11. thanks LowRed, the way i figure it is the more eyes there are out there that know about it, the more chance i have in getting back my motor if anyone knows of any other forums please spread the word... OY53 LML Vin : ....15844 Last seen in the london area......help catch the low lifes responsible...
  12. ...still no news, waiting for that elusive phone call but so far nothing, havent even had any contact from the police since it happened, they seem like a waste of time for me...
  13. my insurers are direct line, they said turnaround for cheque being issued is 4 weeks, thats assuming their valuation meets mine.... but it could be the car turns up in the meantime thats when it gets complicated, apparently if the car turns up in a repairable state they will restore it to its former glory, i havent really got a choice in that as far as i was lead to believe..
  14. You don't have to accept the car even if they find it, I'm sure if I had said I didn't want it, they would've agreed, but once I saw my baby again I wanted her back Didn't really want to buy another IS anyway, and no other car could live up to the IS either :P Good luck whichever way it goes :) ← Parthiban, how did your car get recovered? was it via police? i have had insurance asking to send all remaning keys to them, they said if car turns up they will recover themselves and take to garage for assesment.... did you remain positive of getting car back ?? or were police quite helpful i your situation? ....
  15. insurance said if car turned up i would have no choice but to accept it back, and that they would repair it back to its original state....cost pending of course... not too keen on this, i dont think my car will ever be the same...
