  1. I found with using mintex pads on the front all's they did was move about in the caliper when braking, i kept getting a clunking noise when turning and braking, even added the shim kit to try and stop it.

In the end i just bought the toyota stock pads... and now no more clunking :-)

Maybe i just had two badly machined sets... i dunno.

  2. Hi guys

How do the discs secure onto the Hub? I fitted new discs (Mintex) a few months back but the disc on one side does not sit tight onto the hub. So when the pads grip the disc i can hear a knockin noise as the disc moves a fraction and hits agains the studs.

I on my old vauxhall the hub had a tapped hole that a retaining bolt would hold the disc onto the hub. There doesnt seem to be anything like this on my is200.

Is it because im not using genuine toyota parts that its not fitting tight?

    Cheers guys

  3. Nope, never had that at the Traf to be honest... I've heard of the problem being experienced outside numerous Police Stations.

  4. I get this same problem when parking at the Trafford centre in a certain carpark area. It locks after about 4 attempts then it plays silly beggers when you try to unlock it. I end up just using the key to get in which sets off the alarm at this point panic sets in and im swearing my head off cursing the car and everyone is looking at you as if your trying to half inch it!

Anyone else suffer this at the trafford centre?

  5. swear by the falkens fk452.. over 10k and still look mint! holds the road well and doesnt sound noisy to me!

a few of the others on here have these and at the price you get them for a great purchase!!

I can second this...... loads of tread out of them and at £72.50 a tyre delivered (mytyres.co.uk), Bargain!

    Cheers

  6. NEW "SEE THRU" TIRES

Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires.

This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology:

    a. no more air valves

    b. no more air compressors at gas stations

    c. no more repair kits

    PICS HERE

Wonder what the ride will be like on these bad boys?, I used to have a set of un-popable tyres on my mountain bike and you could feel every nuck an cranny in the road!

  7. Ok i bought one a while back from the US.. It Does pick all FM frequencie up so you'll get all your local radio stations etc but it wont have RDS so you wont get text showing RADIO 1 on the display when your tuned in, It'll just disply 98.5 or what ever radio 1 is in your neck of the woods.

They have SIRIUS Satellite Radio... so you'll find on the radio it'll have a button for SIRIUS that wont work what so ever over here!

I just flogged mine on, on eBay!

  8. What time of bulb do i need for the High beam. i have a spare set of ballasts but need the bulbs for the high beam. :S

You need the 9005 bulbs for your high beam mate and 9006 for the dip... :)

If you are getting these from eBay make sure you are clear on which ones you want as me and rogue went to fit his Hids tonight and the guy had sent him full beam ones instead of the dipped ones he had ordered

Lol ive been down that road already.. i have two sets of ballasts and 3 sets of 9006 bulbs. I want to make use of the spare set of ballast. So the 9005 is for the main beam.. the ones you flash people with? also what type of bullb is the fog lights, the ones in the bumper?

    Cheers

  9. Hi Guyz

Driving to work the morning and the exclamation mark symbol is permanently on. :duh:

I only noticed it ever come on when the hand brake is lifted. The hand brake isnt stuck on, well it drives and doesnt feel slugish.

Had the front brakes changed over 3 weeks ago and ive checked the brake fluid reservoir and its upto max level.

Also fitted a Bluetooth hands free kit last night but that only has 3 connections live/ign/earth so it cant be that!

    Any ideas guys?

  10. Hi guys.

Im going to get my local garage to replace my timing belt.. but while he is doing so what others should i get done? Ive had a look under the bonnet and there is more belts under there than burtons shop window.

Im going to buy all belts and get the garage to fit them... just dont wanna be turning up with to many belts or not enough lol

Would someone tell me what the V belt is too?

Also is it worth getting the Tensioner Assembly replaced?

    Cheers big ears :)

  11. They seem to want just £61.73 inc VAT and delivery for a set of discs. This seems incredibly cheap (almost suspiciously so) to me... has anyone used them before? I'm not sure what brand they are but they have two logos on the top of that page (Mintex and Delphi) so presumably they'll be one of these and therefore OK.

I have used this company to buy shocks and had no problems what so ever, with them or the product :)

Treats, are those uprated shocks or just standard replacements?

Definately a better price than I had thought! :)

    hi mate,

There exactly the same make (KYB) as the originals. So id say standard replacements!

They come as a matching pair when bought and i'd say £108 delivered for a set, isnt a bad price at all.

Now if you just want one to get you through Your MOT i have a spare drivers side that you can have.

Then after the MOT get your self a nice set coilovers.

PM me if you want the shock.

    Martyn :winky:

Cheers for the offer bud, it's ok though, my mot aint for a couple of months so I should be able to save enough for a set by then. I hope! :D

    Ok, mate no worries.

i just didnt have much coin to spend on her at the time of the MOT after havin 4 new tyres. So buying the replacement shocks was the cheapest option.
