hey guys
you might want to check this:
I had oil and filter replaced by trans. expert, and noticed big oil leaks the next 2 weeks- turned out the oil pan needed retorqing cos the cork gasket takes up and the bolts get slack. U might check and re-torque after a few days save yourself some oil and mess.
cheers

timing belt, idler brg,tensioner,
plugs
leads
distributor rotors
caps
w.pump
accesory drive belt and pulleys,
still chasing low power on acceleration after about 3-4000rpm.
full throttle gives acceleration to 3-4000rpm, then it labours and wont go over 5000 till u bak off and then it changes up and accelerates till the same again occurs.
On scanning, no codes appear.
any ideas guys???/

final outcome- place i bought belt is taking it back for a refund-i went and bought a genuine belt from lexus and it has all the correct marks and fits!

I went ahead and put tensioner on and spun engine around twice so cams line up again correctly, and tdc on crank pulley is out about 10 degrees, so its not right.

hey thanks
there is my problem, the belt has no mark on it for the crank position. lining up 2 marks on the cams leaves another mark just about 4 oclock on L cam but nothing anywhere near the crank . FIts ok but noway to line it up properly. Must be faulty. wasnt a genuine part, so there. thought i might have been missing something

W/shop manual says 'align the installation mark on the belt with the drilled mark on the crankshaft timing pulley. Pic. shows bottom pulley with dot, arrow on belt in line with dot and the letters CR .
There are about 30 steps to follow in the order of assembly
Here is a bit of it, regarding just fitting the belt.
Next install the RH c/shaft timing pulley [80ft-lb]RH mark forward
Next the LH -------"----------------------------------LH----------
Set # 1 cylinder to TDC on compression[crankshaft pulley position] Turn pulley and align its groove with the 0 [degree] timing mark of the # 1 timing belt cover
Turn the camshaft pulley and align marks on the pulley and the belt back plate.
Install the belt to to the LH c/shaft timing pulley. The mark on the belt matches with the end of the fan bracket.slightly turn the LH c/shaft pulley clockwise.
Align the mark on the belt with the mark c/shaft pulley.
Align the marks of the Lh c/shaft and the timing belt rear plate.
Repeat with the RH side
Best if you get proper instructions........disaster if you get it wrong!!!!!!!
