  1. Thanks for the quick feedback, gents. Matthew, I know what you mean, I just wondered, as I did think that the GS430 would be more frugal than the LS400 (that was the previous motor) as it is more advanced an engine and carrying less weight. Not the case though. But I am no professor of energy and fuel. That said, as long as its normal am more than happy, plus its good fun to hammer it now and then and see it go under 10mpg! Once again, thanks for the info, and thanks Matthew for the carpet clips, very good of you. Cheers, Nick
  2. Hi all, Just a general question, to ensure that there are no real problems as regards my engine etc, but can't seem to get my GS430 to scrape more than 20mpg,anyone find they do a lot better than this, 03 plate, 35000 miles, so run in, and nothing unusual, and no mods. All ideas/ suggestions/observations appreciated. Cheers Nick
  3. many thanks, gents, i will get cracking with all those suggestions and let you know the results
  4. hi all, another quick query, the chrome exhaust ends (i forget the correct word) on our newly acquired used gs430 are looking a liitle tired and dirty i wondered if anyone had any ideas how they can be cleaned up well, i spoke to an unhelpful lexus parts guy, who said they come as part of the backbox, and practically hung up on me. is this true, so no way to replace them? the exhaust itself if so i would like to get them scrubbed up and shiny. look forward to any ideas Nick
  5. hi, hope I dont get into trouble for putting this in the wrong section, as it is just guidance I require. recently purchased a used gs430, top condition, but its the little things isnt it? having been faced with rudeness/unhelpfulness at lexus parts departments, i wondered if any one can point in the direction i need to find the plastic clips that hold the mats in place, not that they slide much, but the holes in the mats look daft too! I refuse to buy £120 new mats for the sake of 80pence of plastic clips. is there a website i am missing? i hope you can help me many thanks nick
