Hello,
I am torn trying to decide if I should trade in my 2002 IS200 (104K on it) for a 2007 IS220d (65K on it). My IS200 has given me zero problems in the last 8 years (talk about reliability). All I had done in the car was to change the oil regularly and do the required inspections/maintenance.
Now I am faced with the situation of having to drive almost 100 miles each day, and the IS200 fuel bill at month's end is rather high, so I am on the market for a diesel car.
I was seriously thinking to trade in my car as part of the payment on a 2007 IS220d. I love the IS looks and interior, but I am concerned with the 220d being the first Lexus car with a diesel engine. Reading some of the comments in the forum regarding issues with poor MPG performance, faulty 5th injector, dashboard rattling noises, etc; all that negative info has scared me into going forward with the deal.
I was hoping some other forum members who have had experience with both cars and could give me some feedback regarding if they are happy with the IS220d.
Many thanks in advance to all that respond!
dont do it, nice cars but there are a lot better diesel engines out there

Well the alloys were picked up by Pristine Wheels this morning from the vendor who is located in that area and they say they are in good nick but one has a slight dink on the inner rim. So what should I do with these?? Keep the colour stock standard or go for another finish. My car is Strathcaron Blue. Any ideas welcomed.
bright silver :D

Hi LOC!
Thought I’d introduce myself. My name’s Chris, I’m from Welling, Kent. Waiting to pick up my new car on Saturday, an IS200 SE in blue with Tein coilovers and white Rota GTRs. It’s a previous members car (BAZ 4270) and looks like a really nice example. Recently sold my Mitsubishi FTO which I loved but looking forward to Lexus ownership and getting to know the LOC :D
Pics to follow at the weekend (fingers crossed!).
CK
i remember seeing some pics of this car, looked a nice motor :D

Hi... :)

hi :)

Have been to the dreded Halfords... they don;t stock anything suitable, been to several local Motorfactors... they don't stock either!
Please don't say Lexus managed to stitch up the flipping wiperblades to be supplied from self only too!??!?! :tsktsk:
The problem I have found is that any regular 22" would not be appropriate as the O/S uses a double arm and attatches with what looks like a special "clasp/clip" to the blade.
Clarification from the wiser members would be much appreciated :D
try www.wiperblades.co.uk

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you could help me with the following questions... (im a new Lexus owner and am yet to get my head around everything!)
1) Where can I get new inside door handles as my passenger one is cracked
2) How can I go about getting and installing a centre armrest in the front
3) What would you recommende for changing my headlight bulbs to Xenon ones?
Many thanks,
Kev

nice choice mate, if u ever sell the seats and spoiler let me know asap ;)
Are the seats not the standard ones that they all come with? i dont think the spoiler is standard, as it has a brake light on it (that works) but there is a brake light on the parcel shelf (that has been disconnected)
seats are standard, spoiler is a sport spoiler 2001 onwards :)

nice work :D
