  1. Borgwarner gm-8 turbo from a turbodiesel truck

    23x16x3.5 intercooler

6psi springed wastegate (have 15psi spring, but its snowing here)

    Turbo xs h25 bypassvalve

Everything else was fabricated in my garage by my friends and myself.

Is it ready? how did it go on road?

I also have a 94 ES300 at home. red one.

  2. Poor guy who started this thread didn't even ask about performance gains. Its really very sad, all forums seem to go the same way. There are sound genuine people out there, who just want to help out, then there's people like this...

Thanks for providing me some info Remus backbox.

I knew replacing rear exhaust alone wont give much performance gain. I knew this fact even before I bought my IS200.

I just want to find out what people with Remus backbox think about the product.

and as I have posted, I didnt want loud noisy system. I dont want to spend money to have my eardrums damaged.

thanks for the feedbacks. very much appreciated.

  3. :geek: Hey you guy's sorry for butting in here, I have just painted my calipers, should I use lacquer or varnish to finish the effect. 68,Dec 16 2004, 10:49 PM]

Hi guys , whats the best paint to get for the calipers and is it just a case of paint it on or is there a special procedure ?

make sure u clean the caliper properly before u spray/paint.

also be patient, wait for the paint the dry properly between coatings.

I used VHT "caliper and drum" paint, made specifically for caliper to resist heat.

Please read my post of Altezzaclub NZ/AUS from the link from my last post

    :)

  4. Hmm.. I guess this is down to opinion then.

. I had a Remus on my Impreza for over two and a half years, and it was fine. The one on my IS is fine.

Its basically down to what you want. Unless you have some form of forced induction, the performance gains will be minimal irrespective of which one you go for.

I definately dont want something that is too loud. but I want the sound deeper than stock.

I had tried an IS200 6MT with a locally made muffler system, man it was too loud, esp the load resonance ~ 3000rpm , I couldnt stand the noise when cruising at 100km/h in 6th gear.

I am just wondering whether REMUS (not TTE) has similar problem regarding to the noise at 3000rpm

    thanks

  5. That is really **** Marcus :tsktsk: I hate having to park my car up in public areas. If its not vandalism (I had a brick thru my 206 DT window last year for no reason), its someone trying to fit their overweight toddler into their Daewoo's baby seat repeatedly bashing their door into your lexus with their fat Ar5e!!!!

Sorry to hear the bad news man!

I never park next to a car that has baby seats in it, or the parking lot is at the down slope. I hate people so careless to dent other people's car door.

  6. Hi ALL:

I am curious about whether the regulation in UK allows Left Hand Drive cars (steering wheel on the left side of the car) to be legally on road?? I saw some cars in UK's EVO magazine, cars with UK plates but yet LHD??

I know that many countries only allow steering wheel to be on the opposite side of the side they drive on. So in AUSTRALIA(we drive on Left hand side as u all know), only Right Hand Drive cars can be registered. 8 Enzos ordered by Australians can NOT be registered and can not be driven on road legally b/c they are all LHD (need to apply special permit for the occasion).

Japan allows both RHD(of course) and LHD cars to be driven on the road. although it's a bit inconvient for LHD cars sometimes esp. when paying parking fee at car park exit. But I think it's more fun to drive both versions and u get to change gears with different hands. :D

  7. Hi everyone:

My car's coin holder became loose after I hit a pothole a while ago. Eversince that, I have noticed some rattle noise inside the cabin esp when driving thru rough raod/highway.

If I put my finger on the coin holder, the noise will stop. so I m pretty sure the noise is from the coin holder.

Has anyon egot any idea how to solve this noise problem?

Should I just remove the coin holder and dont bother put it back. Or should I remove and refit it. I was thinking to use silicone to seal the gaps, so no vibration??

    Any suggestion?

    thanks

  8. Thanks mate!

I will have a set of Lucas pads put on in a near future.

Do you guys know if there are different grades of pads made by Lucas? and which one is better /suitable for ES300?

any website of the company I can check out?

    cheers

  9. HI :

my 94 ES 300 needs to have front brake pads replaced.

I went to a brake specialist shop and the guy there suggested me UK made"Lucas" pads.

Has any UK members heard of this brand or used thier products before? comment?

Lucas pads are actually cheaper than Oz made "Bendix" pads. So I m thinking of getting UK made pads rather locally made pads.

    thanks

  10. Hi Es3windom:

Where about are u in OZ?

is ur baby a 95 Lexus ES300 or a grey imported Windom?

I didnt know that there 's any grey imported windom as ES 300 was on the local market since early 90s.

And I thought grey importers in OZ can only get those models which were not saled by the distributors. In this case Lexus AUS.

  11. Alternatively, I can use a passenger side mirror from a right-hand drive car, but I want it without any engraving that things are closer than they appear.  (I checked in Australia, and apparently they have the engraving.)  Thanks.

    Hi Rmay:

I went to my local Lexus Showroom 2 days ago. and I checked on a 2003 ES300. The Passenger side convex mirror(LEFT SIDE mirror) DOES NOT has engraving. So u might want to order one from AUS!?

  12. Hi :

It's me again, I checked the JP catalogue, JP Windom has flat with convex otter portion on DRIVER's SIDE. (I was wrong on the previous post). Not sure whether they have engraving on passenger side mirror??

However , our 1994 ES300 and 2002 IS200 DO NOT have engraving on passenger side convex mirrors.

  13. Hi Rmay:

I think the convex mirror on passenger side of Japanese model(RHD Windom) is a bit different to AUSTRALIAN model.

AUSTRALIAN MODEL has convex on all mirror surface, whereas JP model has convex portion only on the outer part of the mirror .( I need to double check on the catalogue  ).

  14. Hi It's me again:

I have found out that a fuse has blown out.

For follow ES300 owers: It's a 20amp fuse(mini spade shape) found in the front right corner of ur bonnet. it's "DOME" fuse and it control central locking, rear boot relese button, and rear boot light and rear antenna motor.

After I replaced the fuse, everything is back into order except antenna, I t still have noise from the motor but I dont know how to replace the white coil.

My question is do I have to replace the entire antenna set including the metal antenna pole outside??

  15. Hi Kal:

When u had problem with ur old dash cluster, did all the light bulbs just die together? or just some of them?

My 94 ES300 has 2 areas looks faint within the cluster. One around 6000~7000RPM and another area is around 130KM/H. No problem with LED needles. They dont affect reading the speedo/techo. It's just doesnt look as good as when it's new!

  16. HI guys:

I removed the boot liner and climbed into the boot , then I detached the motor and the black plastic case for the retracting coil. I found out that the white retracting coil (flexible plastic) has snapped. So it needed to be replaced

I switched on and off the radio tuner during the procedure, then after I placed and secured everything back to original position, I found that the boot light is not working. Also the boot can not be opened from the release "button"(not lever) inside.

The worst thing is the central locking is out of order as well.(remote lock not working and can not lock all doors from driver's door control button)

SO I have made a big mess! ;) :iraqi-info-minister: I hope it's just a fuse which control all of those functions has blown out and I can just simply replace the fuse to fix all the problems(expect antenna).

    Anyone has any idea??

  17. Hi Kohler50:

Is ur 96 ES a MkI ES(projector headlights,3 double spoke alloys) OR MKII(5spokealloy)??

I have an end of 94 ES300 and I have placed a K&N replacement filter in!

If ur ES = MKI, u dont need to unscrew any screw or bolt to remove the filter. All u have to do is unclip those metal clips and use a bit of force to jiggggggggle the top cover of the filter housing off. It's not the easist filter to remove.

  18. :D

    Hi everyone:

I have my fog bulb replaced with Phillip All weather bulbs

    Thanks for everyone's hint.

It took me quite a long time to do the job.

Bluebeard is right, you have to dettach the underbody splash tray to get access to a screw (next to towing hook/loop) so that u can free the underarch plastic well.

There are a lot of different screws and clips to remove. I had one side done when I was doing front- rear wheel rotation, so I have the car jacked up one side with wheel removed, Once I know which screws to be removed, I only need to turn the wheel on the other side to get access.

IT took me a good 4 hours to complete the job(including wheel rotation, taking pictures as I proceed... figuring around.... resting from sore knee and back...) Well got it done finally!

    Thanks guys.
