  1. Hi, Has anyone had problems with the mirror adjustment motors failing? I'm just about to have my second mirror fitted. Same failt each time, the driver's side won't adjust up and down (goes in/out ok though). The garage said this is a common fault but I can't find anyone talking about it.
  2. Update: Don't bother with Greenstuff. Brake feel is different but I don't think they are any better than the lexus original pads. The next time I will try the cheaper Mintex and If they are no good, go back to Lexus pads.
  3. Hi, I need to replace the Pads on my IS250 Auto (25k miles). I would liek to use Green Stuff as these have worked well in my MX5. Has anyone used these on an IS250? Any other types of pads people would recommend. I will be doing the job myself as it saves money and it would take me longer to take it to Lexus - assuming it comes apart ok that is 8-).
  4. Hi, I've got a 2005 (55) IS250 Auto and I want to do my own brake pad replacement but can't find any information on how to do this. I've not looked at the callipers yet and I may be able to work it out but I would like to know the procedure for sure before going ahead. Does anyone know of a guide to doing this? Cheers, Ian.
  5. Hi, I've just been quoted £300 for the 2year service on my IS250 auto. They also said the diff. oil change was optional and want another £55 for this. I initialy thought this was ok as it was a full service but having looked at the handbook, I now think this is very expensive - it only includes oil/filer , air con. filter and lots of "checks" ( it also states the diff oil change is required). I still have one year's warranty to go and I expect to have to use it based on my experience in the first two years ( dash/seat creaks, air bag light, air conditioning motor...), so I'm going to have to pay this
  6. Hi, I'm about to replace all 4 of my Bridgestone Pontensa 205/44 R16's on my IS250 with either Eagle NCT5's or Dunlop Sports. Any comments or other tyre recommendations. Cheers, Ian.
  7. Hi, my car is coming up for it's two year service and I'm now getting very nervous about the long term reliability of my IS250 Auto. Apart from the 1st year and multiple visits to the dealer to sort out the dashboard creaks/rattles, I have not had many problems. My car has , however, now developed a number of other alarming faults. these are; 1) The airbag light can stay on after the car is started. This happens about once every two weeks and the ignition needs to be switched off & then on to clear the problem. 2) Today the air conditioning system failed to start-up ( everything off, no fan, etc) and the light on the Front Windshield Defogger switch was flashing. Again switching the ingition off & on clears the fault. 3) The drivers seat frame feels like it is coming loose and is creaking. I'm about to book the car in for it's two year service and I would appreciate any comments from other people that have had the same problems and hopefuly how they were resolved. Cheers, Ian.
  8. Hi all, First time posting on this site after buying the new IS250 - Brilliant car :D and totally different ownership experience to my RX8 ( this was terrible ). Anyway, I would like to fit a towbar to the car ( for carrying bikes not a towing a caravan) but the Lexus offering needs a bumber cut. Does anyone know of a detachable towbar that can be fitted without cutting the bumber as I would like to remove it when I come to sell the car. Ian.
