HI
I HAVE A MK 2 GS300SE ON 98S
I CHANGED MY ORIGINAL HEAD UNIT TO AFTER MARKET CD PLAYER
ALL I NEEDED WAS A TOYOTA TO ISO HARNES IT DID NEED EXTENDING AS THE ORIGINAL HAD A SEPARATE AMP
AMP IS LOCATED IN PASSENGER SIDE FOOT WELL (A POST)
THE ONLY THING I NEEDED TO MODIFY WAS IGN WIRE (HAD TO CHOP AN CONNECT WITH LIVE)
THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS THE AFTER MARKET CD PLAYER DOESNT TURN OF ON REMOVEL OF KEY NEEDS TO BE TURND OFF MANULLY.
THATS NO INCOVENIANCE AS I REMOVE THE FACE ANY WAY
HOPE THIS HELPS
-
HAVE YOU GOT A PIC OF THE ISO CONNECTOR
YOU HAVE PURCHASED.
I WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHICH WIRE TO CONNECT TO WHICH

:tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: Doesnt F%$kin fit, SO need to try and sell it,
Has anyone got there sat nav working in there altezza????
Please Anyone???
ive heard the altezza sat nav will only work if u replace it with uk is 200 nav computer
but you loss the tv opion on head unit that why i never botherd changing it

Cool i have another look at my wiring and try to figure that out. Are your speakers amplified with an external amp, located behind the glove box? Not all models have them. This could explain the difference between wiring schemes.
no m8 mine dont have amp its 1 without
but i dont think that should matter the sound wire from tv tuner should be same
the only differnce in my opinion is my tv tuner has a converter betwee wiring but some one has converted yours coz on the second wirin block which is different mine only has 4 wires before converter
Ok so how does your dvd player get its power?
Are the cables from the dvd player RCA output?
So i should get an RCA lead going from the dvd player, chop off the plugs at one end and wire them into the block that i disconnected the tv tuner from, they way you described above.
my dvd player gets its power from back of the standard head unit.
yes you can use rca cable chop the ends on 1 side and wire it accordig to my discription but wiring block needs to be re connected to tv tuner if not it wont work
but if your going to wire dvd player in glove box like me make sure the rca cable is long enough
advice: if you follow oem wiring back through the boot you will find the is openin for wiring so no need to make any new holes

once u connect your wiring to these 4 wires this will work as aux inputs but you will only here when you use TV button on your head unit.
then u need a video input which is were it gets complicated because u aint got enough wires mine on the second wiring block on tv tuner.
mine has 5 wires yours only has 4 of which 1 is cut
i have wired video -ve to wire 3 without chopin its conection with tuner (which u dont have)
i have wired video +ve to wire 5(urs is green) by chopin connection with tuner and conecting it direct to video +ve.
i will have a play about with mine and try to work out a solution for you(on weekend).
i have my DVD player mounted in glove box(if u find a bettter place to mount please let me know)
it works like MAGIC
-
lookin at ur pictures ur wiring is diferent 2 mine
because i have a module between oem wiring block and oem tv tuner
in this case i can try 2 work u thru it but no promises
if u look at YOUR tv tuner pic it has a wiring block with 12 wires
on that block the first 4 wires from left are sound inputs
-
i tried takin pics but came out cr*p
but i found the pics that helped me
1st where the tuners at
http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3489923
2nd for sound input
http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3489922
wires need to be cut and connected to wiring block not tv tuner
-
yes my nav computer is same
but tv tuner is on opposite side behind boot lining
above rear strut mounted on side
-
-
do all yo guys know were the tv tuner is
If not its located in the boot on nearside post bolted to the side
it has 4 wiring plugs attached and 1 un used
out of the the 4 you will need to modify 2 of them
1 for sound(inputs to H U)
2 for picture
after doing this tv tuner will no longer work (u will get no fuzzy picture or sound from it)
-
as long as no jap text wen u press tv button while drivin
ok m8 al take some pics of wiring
and check which wire conects were

wel i actually use mine through the standard head unit it works like tv would press TV button screen folds out on its own and it plays sound from normal speaker this solves EER3 problem if u have it
just use dvd player 2 play cds mp3 etc
the main cost of this is dvd player (mine cost £60)
but i wouldnt know how to work dvd with screen if you remove standard hu
TAZ
Are you using th GPS screen to watch the dvds? The factory one that pops up from the dash?
So if i leave in the standard HU, how do i hook up a dvd player to it?
yes im using gps screen
u will need :
1)a dvd player that supports ntsc format ( i have http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Centurion-In-Car-DVD...1QQcmdZViewItem )
it plays any thing
2)3x phono connectors
3)cable (i just used 2core speaker cable as i was jus tryin)
does ur tv screen work while moving(mine did ) if not theres a problem

Hi Taz,
Is it easy to bypass the tuner and use a dvd player? I plan on removing the standard hu with an after market, so i would have a spare slot to stick a dvd player into.

i mean getting "tv" reception, the most iv got before is a few voices on ch1 but screen still fuzzy,
hi m8 ive got a altezza with the tv mine never worked because uk tv use a different bandwith
uk uses UHF i think japs use VHF thats why u get sound or a fuzzy picture.
ive bypassed the tuner and put a dvd player to it.
if i wanted i could add a uk after market tv tuner(but i dont watch emadale)
